I am carefully designing my site's architecture, and I have a specific question about the visibility of Group Spaces in the main sidebar.
My goal is to create a personalized experience for my users. I want the sidebar to be empty for a new user upon registration. Then, as the user joins different Group Spaces (e.g., "Porto," "Lisbon," ), those groups should start appearing in their personal sidebar.
To achieve this, I have gone to Settings -> Appearance and I have left the checkbox for "Show Spaces Even if the User is not a Member of any Space" intentionally unchecked.
My expectation was that this setting would hide all public groups from the sidebar for users who have not yet joined any.
However, what I am currently observing is that all of my public Group Spaces are still visible in the sidebar for every logged-in user, even for new test accounts that are not members of any space.
My question is: Is this the expected behavior of the plugin, or am I possibly misunderstanding this setting? Is there another configuration I might be missing to achieve the "personalized, starts-empty" sidebar experience?
I have already tested this in an incognito window with a new user account to rule out any caching issues.

This setting doesn't hide the group but the spaces in the group. A space doesn't have to be in a group though and spaces can be hidden.
J V that doesn't make sense in my opinion, because the appearance setting is in the group spaces settings and not in the spaces settings!!
Andre Gois We identified an issue where public spaces were still visible to logged-out users even after being unchecked.
This has been fixed on the dev environment.
