Hello,

We recently encountered a malware attack, which has since been resolved. As part of our recovery process, we migrated our domain to a new, clean hosting environment.

However, since the migration, FluentSMTP has stopped functioning correctly, displaying the following message:

"FluentSMTP Plugin may not work properly. Looks like your Authentication unique keys and salts are changed. Reconfigure SMTP Settings "

When I click on "Reconfigure SMTP Settings," nothing happens, and I am unable to proceed with the reconfiguration.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Jesse Benjamin

Hey Pablo Ho, I've run into the same issue after migrating a site before. Just needed to go to Fluent SMTP > Settings > Edit button for the provider you use > Remove and re-add the API key/s for the provider 😄

Pablo Ho, For security reason, FluentSMTP encrypts the passwords and other sensitive keys and it's the best practice. If you ever alter the WordPress SALTs then the FluentSMTP can't decrypt the keys and that's why you have to reconfigure it.

We could skip all of these headaches but security is important in our company and that's why we walked an extra mile to implement these to secure your credentials.
