Hello - I'm setting this up for the first time today. Mostly it seems to be working but I've never worked with any other community based software or plugin.

Questions:

  1. For testing I have it set to Public but it still requires a login/join in order to comment. Can this be clarified for me?
  2. I've never built a separate login page before, I have mainly worked with woocommerce sites and this is just a blog site. Where your settings require a login button url, what should I be placing there? A login form I've created and placed on a page?
  3. When selecting users/members there was a number assigned after the name: Full Name (3), etc. What is the 3 referencing?

Thank you to anyone who can help.

I'm really enjoying the simple, clean layout.

Hi Dona Dowlan, welcome to the community. Here are the answers of your questions:

  1. For adding a comment, a user must need to be logged in.
  2. You can use FluentAuth plugin to create a login page with shortcode. FluentCommunity will have it's built-in Login / Signup process.
  3. the 3 denotes the user id so you can easily know which user id you are adding to the community. We may add their photo and user email as well into that list.

Wonderful! Thank you so much. Dona

I have a few follow up questions. I have installed FluentAuth.

  1. How do I change the button and selection box color? It is blue by default.
  2. How do I enable a logout function?
  3. It appears that a test login resulted in the contact becoming a user (subscriber) it also got added to my FluentCRM (which is nice) with the tag "New Subscriber". How can I set up people who register using LoginAuth to be added as "Member" vs. "New Subscriber". Or some other name I might designate. What is controlling that autopopulate function?
    Thank you.
