Has FC thought about mobile app?

Android and Google playstore?

I got mobile apps for everything

Upwork

Fiverr

Banking

Food

Insurance

Fluent?

It is somewhat more convenient using a mobile app then tracking down a url that I would have to load into a browser.

From a business standpoint, it would seem like a good business move...

Yay? Nay?

They are working with a separate company to build one. It has been mentioned here in the past. Some people have used other web to app services as well (also some posts here).

I'm hopeful the mobile site will be good enough to work as an app through PWA. I have that working now on my community including push notifications with Better Messages support. Once you visit the site on a mobile browser and install the app, it's pretty much the same as having installed it from an app store.

Ross FCAΒ Ross is right. Give him a change and support him. His community is like an actual app with Push notifications πŸ””

Ross FCAΒ can't wait for the launch

I built a PWA and it's on the Apple App store!

I have a stupid question.. so if we can create an app for our community sites on Apple & Android.. are they going to take a cut of any membership sales? I heard they charge 30% of what you make via an app.. any opinion?

David Scurlock

Insta NetΒ I know you pay app fees to get listed, and i suspect that most business models dont even have a 30% profit margin. Even if they took a small fee, would that not kill your affiliate program?

Insta Net

David ScurlockΒ yeah for sure not feasible..

David Scurlock

Insta Net there are worse things in life other than app stores taking a fee. How about a wife that gambles away her paycheck instead of taking care of her family? I would certainly trade that in for app fees 🀣

Insta Net

David Scurlock oh boy.. no comment 😬

David Scurlock

Insta NetΒ it appears that google app charges 15% for in app purchases and apple 30% which maybe avoided if you direct buyers through an external link to your payment page, however, I could be wrong, so you will have to read up on it unless someone with app experience can step in to answer questions regarding app fees. I think any service fees could impact your bottom line, but I am not sure how all that works as it does seem a bit complicated πŸ€” in either case, it seems less interesting now.

Seems to be available or I am wrong? See "products" here:

ProsperΒ sure, go ahead and download, and let us know what you find on the other side.

David ScurlockΒ it doesn't work?

Mat β€Ž

ProsperΒ it looks like they will have a crazy pricing not mentioning that some users have 50+ fCommunity licenses here (let us know if its worth it) - it will be hard to get the momentum for them with that app and such a pricing sounds like maybe in 2 years from now (or never) IMHO.

Lets see the crowd reaction... they are not an Apple or FB yet. Here it is an example and wake up call:

And what do you think about this app? Seems not very expensive and seems to work fluently: https://wpmobile.app/

It has been installed here:
