Gutenberg Blocks with API V2
I'm using Etch for website development. The concept is, that Etch writes GB blocks and the end user (my customer) should edit content either in CPTs or directly on the page in Gutenberg. To display the Etch content identically in Gutenberg, it requires the Gutenberg editor to load in iframe mode. This requires, that all registered blocks are using API V3. If only one registered block is using a lower version, the iframe loading is not working. All registered blocks of the Fluent product register as API V2. This causes massive issues on my sites build with Etch. I raised a ticket, but only got the answer, that a migration to V3 blocks will be considered, but no timeframe for it. Have to say, that this is disappointing. At least I would like to see a commitment to work on this and to communicate at least an estimation, by when this can be done.
Can anyone of the team comment on this?
Below a picture, illustrating the issue.
Thanks for the report. We will migrate these to version 3
Shahjahan JewelΒ Great news! Thanks! Any idea, by when this could happen?
Shahjahan JewelΒ And please: Do it for all GB Blocks on all Fluent Products - as only one block below v3 will prevent the iframe editor to load. Thanks again!
Peter HeckΒ We will try to migrate all in the next update (next week)
Shahjahan JewelΒ Wow - that's fast! Highly appreciated!
Shahjahan JewelΒ I have noticed, that nearly all of the GB blocks are now updated - but one is missing:
fluent-crm/conditional-content
Peter HeckΒ yes, It's already being upgraded on FluentCRM V3 beta. We are going to release the V3 beta within this month.
Hi, thanks for digging into this. Will this make Fluent Community theme compatible with etch (ability to display etch pages within FC)? At the moment on my install, pages display ok in FC as long as the user is not logged in.
etch + FC = now compatible π
