Gamification for FluentCommunity πŸ₯‡πŸ†πŸ₯ˆπŸŽ–️πŸ₯‰

Turn Your FluentCommunity Into an Engaging, Reward-Driven Community

FC Gamification brings a powerful, flexible points and leveling system to FluentCommunity, allowing you to reward the actions that matter most on your community, learning platform, membership site, or online academy.

Automatically reward members for registering, joining spaces, creating posts, commenting, reacting, enrolling in courses, completing lessons, finishing courses, passing quizzes, attending video calls, making tips, purchasing products, submitting forms, sharing content, earning certificates, and much more.

Create your own levels, point values, targeted bonuses, leaderboards, member progress displays, email notifications, and FluentCRM automations β€” all from your WordPress dashboard.

What Is FC Gamification?

FC Gamification is a dedicated gamification engine built specifically for FluentCommunity.

Instead of relying on FluentCommunity's built-in point calculations, FC Gamification maintains its own independent points ledger, giving administrators complete control over how points are earned, deducted, displayed, tracked, and automated.

You decide:

  • What actions earn points
  • How many points each action is worth
  • Which actions can deduct points
  • Which spaces or courses receive special bonuses
  • How members progress through levels
  • How leaderboards are displayed
  • Which members should be excluded
  • What emails members receive
  • What FluentCRM automations should happen
  • Whether companion add-ons contribute to the gamification system

The result is a flexible reward system that can grow with your community.

Key Features

🎯 Fully Customizable Point Rules

Choose exactly which member activities should earn or lose points.

Built-in rules cover:

  • Registering / signing up
  • Joining a space
  • Requesting to join a private space
  • Creating a space
  • Deleting a space
  • Enrolling in a course
  • Completing a lesson
  • Completing a course module/section
  • Completing an entire course
  • Creating a course
  • Deleting a course
  • Submitting a quiz
  • Passing a quiz
  • Creating a post
  • Posting comments and replies
  • Reacting to posts
  • Receiving likes on posts
  • Receiving likes on comments

Every rule can be individually enabled, disabled, and assigned its own point value.

πŸ† Custom Levels & Progression

Create your own member progression system.

For example:

Newcomer β†’ Bronze β†’ Silver β†’ Gold β†’ Platinum β†’ Diamond β†’ Legend

Set the minimum number of points required for each level and optionally add descriptions for every level.

Members can see:

  • Their current level
  • Their current points
  • Their next level
  • How many points remain
  • Their level progression
  • Which levels they have unlocked

πŸŽ–οΈ Member Profile Gamification

Automatically display gamification information directly inside FluentCommunity member profiles.

The profile widget can show:

  • Member points
  • Current level
  • Progress toward the next level
  • Level information
  • Configured level progression

No shortcode is required when the automatic profile widget is enabled.

πŸ₯‡ Built-In Leaderboards

Give your members something to compete for.

FC Gamification includes leaderboard functionality that can display your top members based on their accumulated points.

Leaderboards support:

  • Member rankings
  • Points totals
  • Current levels
  • Profile information
  • 7-day rankings
  • 30-day rankings
  • All-time rankings
  • Configurable member exclusions
  • "How points work" information

You can display the leaderboard using:

[fcpm_leaderboard]

πŸ“Š Sidebar Leaderboard Widget

Add a gamification card to the FluentCommunity portal sidebar.

Members can see:

  • Their own points
  • Their current level
  • Top members
  • Community rankings

The widget can be enabled or disabled from the plugin settings.

🎯 Specific Space & Course Bonuses

Reward members differently depending on where the activity happens.

Create targeted bonuses for:

  • Joining a specific space
  • Creating a post in a specific space
  • Commenting in a specific space
  • Deleting a comment in a specific space
  • Deleting a specific space
  • Completing a specific course
  • Enrolling in a specific course
  • Deleting a specific course

This lets you create special campaigns and incentives around individual spaces or courses.

πŸ”’ Daily Point Caps

Prevent members from endlessly farming points from repetitive activities.

Point rules can use daily caps so you can control how many points a member can earn from a particular activity within a day.

This helps keep your gamification system balanced and fair.

πŸ”„ Automatic Point Reversals

FC Gamification doesn't simply award points and forget about them.

When supported activities are reversed, the plugin can reverse the associated points.

For example:

  • Removing a reaction can return the reaction points
  • Deleting content can trigger deductions
  • Leaving a space can reverse applicable points
  • Course progress resets can reverse previously awarded points

This helps keep member balances accurate.

βœ‰οΈ Automated Gamification Emails

Keep members informed about their progress with customizable email notifications.

FC Gamification supports emails for:

  • Points awarded
  • Points deducted
  • Level up

Customize:

  • Sender name
  • Sender email
  • Logo
  • Footer
  • Email template
  • Subject
  • Email content

You can also use dynamic placeholders such as:

{user_first}
{user_username}
{points}
{points_balance}
{level}
{label}
{site_title}
{site_link}

Preview emails and send test emails before putting them into production.

πŸ€– FluentCRM Automation Integration

Connect your gamification system to FluentCRM and build automated marketing journeys around member achievements.

FC Gamification adds automation triggers for:

  • Points balance reaches a specified number after an award
  • Points balance reaches a specified number after a deduction
  • User attains a level
  • User's level is revoked

This allows you to create automations such as:

Member reaches 500 points β†’ Add FluentCRM tag β†’ Send congratulations email β†’ Enroll member into a campaign

or:

Member reaches Gold level β†’ Send reward email β†’ Add VIP tag

Powerful Add-On Integrations

FC Gamification can extend its point system into compatible Mpaddi/Fluent products.

πŸŽ₯ FluentCommunity Video Calls

Reward members for:

  • Successfully making a paid tip during a video call
  • Joining a video call
  • Completing a video call
  • Leaving a video call

This creates an incentive for members to participate in live community events.

πŸŽ“ Course Certificates

Reward members when they complete a course and successfully receive their PDF completion certificate.

This makes certificates more meaningful while giving learners another reason to complete their courses.

πŸ”— Fluent Community Share

Reward members for successfully sharing:

  • Feed posts
  • Courses
  • Lessons

Supported sharing activities include social platforms, messaging, email, and copy-link sharing.

πŸ›’ FluentCart

Connect purchases and subscriptions to your community's gamification system.

Reward members for:

  • Successfully purchasing a product
  • Activating a subscription

You can also deduct points when:

  • A subscription is canceled
  • A subscription expires

This makes it possible to combine community engagement + learning + commerce into one reward ecosystem.

πŸ“ Fluent Forms

Reward logged-in members when they successfully submit a Fluent Forms form.

This can be useful for:

  • Surveys
  • Applications
  • Community forms
  • Feedback
  • Challenges
  • Member activities

Manual Point Management

Administrators aren't limited to automatic rules.

Use Award / Adjust Points to manually:

  • Award points
  • Deduct points
  • Reward individual members
  • Adjust member balances
  • Add an administrative note
  • Award points to all registered users at once

This is useful for competitions, promotions, special achievements, corrections, giveaways, and community events.

Complete Points Ledger

Every point transaction is recorded in FC Gamification's own points ledger.

Track:

  • Member
  • Points awarded or deducted
  • Rule responsible
  • Related object
  • Reference type
  • Notes
  • Administrator responsible for manual adjustments
  • Date and time

This gives administrators a clear audit trail of how member balances were created.

Independent Gamification System

FC Gamification uses its own dedicated points system and database ledger.

This means your gamification data is managed independently rather than trying to modify FluentCommunity's internal leaderboard calculations.

You can therefore build your own:

  • Point economy
  • Levels
  • Rewards
  • Leaderboards
  • Progress displays
  • Automations
  • Email notifications

around the activities that matter to your community.

Shortcodes

Display gamification information wherever you need it.

Display Points

[fcpm_points]

Display Member Level

[fcpm_level]

Display Leaderboard

[fcpm_leaderboard]

These can be placed in WordPress pages, posts, widgets, and other shortcode-compatible areas.

Backup & Restore

Protect your gamification data with built-in backup tools.

Export your:

  • Point rules
  • Settings
  • Complete points log

as a backup file.

You can then restore the data later, including on a fresh installation.

The restore system also checks existing records to avoid unnecessarily creating duplicate ledger entries.

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

FC Gamification includes its own diagnostics system to help administrators identify configuration problems.

It can check things such as:

  • FluentCommunity detection
  • Optional add-on detection
  • Points ledger table
  • Points engine hooks
  • Enabled point rules
  • Shortcodes
  • FluentCRM integration

This makes troubleshooting much easier when running a larger FluentCommunity installation.

  • PHP 7.4 or higher

FluentCRM is optional and only required if you want to use the FluentCRM automation triggers.

Is it possible, for example, to set up a space called β€œAd-Marketing” where authors have to spend 50 points to post, and earn 1 point whenever their post receives a comment or a like?

WiLson Eberechi

Peng XieΒ there's already an event trigger to award points whenever an author's post receives a like or a comment.

If you requesting for authors to spend points to post, that can be added, that means they'll be a feature for author to buy points as well? Another point system added? Fluentcart system to handle purchase of points? Etc. that'll be lots of features added for that ads marketing.

That means, admins will make money from authors when they purchase points, is that what you mean?

Peng Xie

WiLson EberechiΒ before continue, I have to talk another point: Paystack and Zapp don’t work here in Germany. I tried paying by card, but it failed. I then tried installing the Zap app, then register, phone, email, passport, address verification, then...I still can't pay...it seems because I'm in Germany now, and I no longer had the energy to keep trying. You should offer Stripe, Apple Pay, or other payment options.

WiLson Eberechi

Peng XieΒ sorry for the inconvenience, kindly check your DM for other payments availability.

Peng Xie

WiLson EberechiΒ done.

No, users don’t have to buy points, and they can’t purchase them. They can only earn points by writing good posts or completing other tasks, such as the daily check-in. This way, we can keep the forum free of spam.

For example, if a user spends 50 points to publish a good article and only 10 people comment on it or click β€œLike,” they earn only 10 points, resulting in a net loss of 40 points. However, if 100 people click β€œLike,” the user earns 100 points, making a net gain of 50 points.

This encourages authors to write high-quality articles and increases interaction between members, making the forum more engaging and fun.

WiLson Eberechi

Peng XieΒ I like this idea, well everything you stated, are already in this current version of the gamification, except for "a user spends an amount of point (example: 50 points) to publish a post".

so event trigger to be added on next update: "a user spends an amount of points to publish a post".

is that all?

also, when you talk about "daily check-in", what do you mean? Do you mean daily user login? if that's what you mean, I wanted to add that but fluent community uses cookies to save logins, meaning when members login in one time, the member stays login for at least 7 days or months. So that is why i did not add daily login checks, so what "daily check-in" are you talking about?

Peng Xie

WiLson EberechiΒ I think the easiest way is this: If negative values are allowed, I can set it up as follows: β€œUser post: Got -50 points. πŸ˜€β€ If a user’s account has a negative point balance, the user will have restricted permissions or be β€œblocked.”

Regarding the daily check-in, yes, it is similar to what you described as a daily login. The only difference is that the user has to click a button labeled β€œCheck in,” which can help prevent users from running a browser script automatically in the background.

WiLson Eberechi

Peng XieΒ Negative values are already allowed in this version.
The "Check in" button would only be seen by logged in members?

Peng Xie

WiLson EberechiΒ Maybe everyone can see it, but only members can earn points.

This idea draws inspiration from certain apps. For instance, there’s a shopping app I currently use that features a "7-Day Challenge": you earn 1 point for checking in daily, an extra 10 points for a three-day streak, and another 20 points for a seven-day streakβ€”meaning you can earn up to 57 points every seven days. As for me, even though I use the app every day, I constantly forget to check in; I’ll realize the next day that I’ve broken my streak, feel frustrated, and then have to start all over again. I have to admit, though, that there is definitely an element of fun to it.

There are also apps where the number of points awarded for each check-in varies, giving the experience a bit of a lottery-like feel.

Alternatively, you could simply set it up so that everyone gets three chances a day to spin a prize wheel. I think there is so much creative potential for this pluginβ€”it could be expanded with numerous features to become a truly powerful tool. I’m certainly glad I bought it right away.

WiLson Eberechi

Peng XieΒ read and understood.

  1. so event trigger to be added on next update: "a user spends an amount of points to publish a post".
  2. daily check-in

I see those two, they'll be added in next update.
Is that all?

I've already gotten some feature request to be added to this plugin from 4 clients who just purchased this plugin and these features will be available on next update.

Chris Davis

Naming it "Leaderboard" is confusing in the FC Settings. You should name it Gamification Leaderboard or something to differentiate it from the native Leaderboard. Also, does this plugin import their current points? Or does it do a retroactive table lookup and assign points based on past engagement?

WiLson Eberechi

Chris DavisΒ aah you're right about the leaderboard, I just used that, anyone can use any name.

I'm glad there's a thorough explanation of the Gamification add-on.

This Gamification add-on has its own points system, totally different from the fluent community native points system.

I didn't think of importing points from fluent community native points system, since admin would deactivate it in features & add-ons and use FC Gamification.

But I'll add this feature in next update, admin can click an optional button that imports points of members from fluent community native points system to FC Gamification points system. That's if admin activates the fluent community native leaderboard feature in features & add-ons in FC Settings.

Charlotte

Fascinated! I'm only skimmed the details, but I'll dive in. It looks amazing.

Charlotte

I bought in! Because at the introduction price it's worth it just to see how you're thinking about things and get my hands in it. 😁 Not your fault, but there's real friction in the checkout - about 4 attempts with as many payment options to get one to work. The US system is hard coded not to allow this. BUT, I did get a card to work in the end. (2 Zap tries - mobile and laptop - no joy there at all.)

I'll get this going on a sandbox site - can't wait to learn more. Brilliant. Just brilliant!!

WiLson Eberechi

CharlotteΒ I've received your order, I'll link up my PayPal and contact my country's bank to create a stripe account for me, so I could integrate it with fluentcart payment gateways. Since paystack isn't available in some countries like Australia, Israel, Vietnam, etc. some clients have to make payments to me via PayPal or buymeacoffee

Also, after installing, check the Gamification add-on, and write to me, if you need any feature added into it.

Charlotte

WiLson EberechiΒ I think if you can reduce the friction there you'll get better conversions, but I understand that the friction is not of your making. It's coming from structural issues outside of your control.

Excited to dig in!

Hoang Hxn

WiLson EberechiΒ What tool are you using to record this video?

WiLson Eberechi

Hoang HxnΒ I use screenrec and canva for editing, Ai voicing, captions, etc.

Hoang Hxn

WiLson EberechiΒ Thanks for sharing; I am looking for a Windows screen recording tool suitable for my tutorials.

WiLson Eberechi

Hoang HxnΒ use anydesk

Teddy Skokos

WiLson EberechiΒ I'm trying to buy it, but I'm getting the same payment error that I got when I bought your Video Calls plugin a couple of months ago.

WiLson Eberechi

Teddy SkokosΒ kindly check your DM

WiLson Eberechi

The leaderboard shortcode: [fcpm_leaderboard]

Can also display on fluent community pages as you can see from the image below.

By the time this add-on was created, there was no fluent community pages, so I made this video using wordpress page, but no worries. Leaderboard Shortcode works perfectly on fluent community pages.

MichaΓ«l KIHL

What happens to the points already earned in FluentCommunity's native system?
Can they be imported into FC Gamification, or do we have to start from scratch?
He currently mentions that his system is completely independent and that he hadn't planned for importing native points.

WiLson Eberechi

MichaΓ«l KIHLΒ like I told Chris DavisΒ  I'm already working on adding this feature in next update, admin can click an optional button that imports points of members from fluent community native points system to FC Gamification points system. That's if admin activates the fluent community native leaderboard feature in features & add-ons in FC Settings.

Sascha Leem

Excellent add-on, thank you! Recently I was looking for the ability fΓΌr members to

  • earn points for referring or adding new members
  • convert points into credits that can be used to extend a membership or purchase a course

I understand that these use cases are not currently supported by either your add-on or the FluentCommunity/FluentCart/FluentAffiliate stack. However, I believe they would be valuable features to consider.

WiLson Eberechi

Sascha LeemΒ what you requested for are already available in Dev and would be ready in the next update, about 7 clients out of 12 who got this add-on from me made lots of new features request which I have been adding one after the other.

The "earn points for referring or adding new members" has already been adding in Dev:

Image 1:

1.00

Image 2, that referral sign up link showing on leaderboard, only that logged in member sees that link:

1.00

Image 3, fluent affiliate is also added:

1.00

Image 4, this "convert points into credits that can be used to extend a membership or purchase a course", where member needs to spend some amount of points to enroll in a course, I'm already working on that. As I have added where member needs to spend some amount of points to post and comment, what is remaining is joining a space and enrolling in a course which I am working on:

1.00

members who don't have such amount to spend get a message saying, you need an amount of points to make a post/comment/enroll in a course/join a space.

I have added importation of points from native fluent community points to FC Gamification points.

I am also adding other features as well, all these will be available in next update.

Sascha Leem

WiLson Eberechi Awesome, thanks! I’d love to give it a try. Would it be possible to sign up for a trial, access a demo for both the admin and end-user experience, or request a refund if it doesn’t work as needed for the portal I’m currently building?

WiLson Eberechi

Sascha LeemΒ yes you get a refund when requested

Ferenc Sarosi

WiLson EberechiΒ I was not able to pay for your plugin with paystack. Any other possibility?

WiLson Eberechi

Ferenc SarosiΒ kindly check your DM.
