FluentCommunity Users in FluentCRM vs WordPress
I would like to know the benefits and cons of having users in the FluentCRM AND in WP. I dread having hundreds of people with WP user accounts. But I would like to know the thought process of either. Thanks for your input.
Kevin WatsonΒ The core benefit of FluentCRM is that it allows your marketing list (Contacts) to be entirely separate from your site accounts (WordPress Users).
- FluentCRM Contacts are lightweight records stored in FluentCRM own custom, optimized database tables
- WordPress Users are full accounts stored in the core WordPress tables (wp_users, wp_usermeta)
This separation is essential for speed and security.
FluentCRM Contact is the best entity for leads, newsletter subscribers, and people who only receive your emails. If you would have Users/Contacts in FluentCRM only then there they wouldnt have any site acccess (Contacts couldnt log in, use access member areas or participate in community).
WordPress User Account is required when the person needs a role and access privileges ex: for your community (All Community users are Wordpress users - this is the same entity).
So if you have 1000 community members it means that you have 1000 wordpress users and if you would like to use Marketing emails for these 1000 users then it is recommended to use FluentCRM so you can easily have everything in sync.
FluentCRM users records are stored in a separate tables so they shouldnt slowdown your WP if you manage it correctly.
If you dont use any Marketing emails then maybe you dont need FluentCRM. It depends on what is your goal.
Mat βΒ Thank you for that thorough reply! I currently just have them in the CRM and will keep them there.
