Awesome stuff - lock screen update is huge!
Awesome! Well done!
Amazing as usual
Please, I need an explanation or an example on how to use - Hook for Default Profile Tab
Bryan William Here you go:
add_filter('fluent_community/default_profile_tab_route', function ($default_route) {
// Example: This code sets the ‘Spaces’ tab as the default view.
// possible values: '', 'comments', 'spaces', 'posts'
// '' for default
return 'spaces';
});
Shahjahan Jewel thanks, I want to add "courses" to the list in the profile. Can you help me adjust the code? I just want to copy and paste into Fluent Snippets. Or perhaps, where's the best place to paste the code
Bryan William We don't have course tabs yet but planning to add that.
Shahjahan Jewel Great, but we need a filter to register new tabs in the profiles, like `bp_core_new_nav_item()`.
Yeah that's great. Especially that display month thing cause that was messing me up thinking it was a minute ago when I would just see an "m" on the post. I hope that's what it's referring to. Sometimes it's the small things
need to test breakdance asap
Manuel Müller I wouldn't mind seeing your site once you have breakdance up...
Manuel Müller I'm setting it all up under Oxygen 4.9.2. So far so good. :)
Found this bug after the update it’s showing ( Lesson and %$ variables instead of actual text) any ideas?
Daniel Proctor same here, following

Daniel Proctor Fixed on dev.
Daniel Proctor did you check your translations? I see there were some changes in strings.
Drive Zone strange, we don’t have any translations setup so it shouldn’t be a problem with that.
Drive Zone Yes, we’ve made some changes to the translation strings according to plugin-check review.
Daniel Proctor Released version 2.1.01. Thanks for reporting early!
Raiyan Marzan no worries! Great that was a fast fix 😁
- Sticky sidebar on the right side. Is this going to happen? Now the right sidebar is empty like it would have been done 20 years ago.
- Videos uploads?
Is it possible to make the covers for the spaces clickable to an external link?
Does anyone know if fluentCommunity links are do follow or no follow?
https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/community-meta/post/are-fc-links-no-follow
Thanks
Artur Abakarov what does this code actually do?
David Scurlock wrote in a private message.
Please we will be glad if the course section can be like a more robust lms where we can have module, and lessons. And enable aspace to add more video and material to a lesson. Please consider elementor integration as well
can't create new posts....there's an error with topics
Manuel Müller Fixed on dev.
Version 2.1.01 has been released with the fixes. Thank you!
Raiyan Marzan that was quick 😱
When are you guys adding EVENTS in FluentCommunity? That is a needed feature for any online community.
Ahmed Hassan can members also utilize events? If not, I have no use for it.
David Scurlock Yes. An event should have the features that can make it interactive and user friendly.
I would love if Fluentcommunity could function as commenting under WordPress blogs/articles. Just like for example Circle does with their widget or Flarum with their addon. This would make it an even better integrated experience over the whole site
Wilco Wietsma im not sure that I follow. I do not know anything about circle or flarum, maybe you can describe your idea in more detail.
Wilco Wietsma Same, that's a huge feature I am waiting to see drop. It's one of the main things BuddyBoss currently has over FluentCommunity.
I want my members to be able to comment on articles, and have a mirror discussion set up in a designated Space.
Ars Thenica has this setup currently with Wordpress and Xenforo. Here's the forum: https://arstechnica.com/civis/
You can look at any article and the comments to see how they integrate it.
Zach T I dont disagree but this probably is not a high priority. Most blogs have comments disabled because of constant and consistent spam.
David Scurlock I don't understand your point. If commenting is limited to members of FluentCommunity, spam shouldn't be an issue anymore that would be in community Spaces. For my use case, it is one of the top things on my list.
The website I linked to gets more messages in its comments in a day than this community has gotten in a year.
Zach T maybe I dont understand your goals. You want fc members to be able to create comments on your blog posts, is this right?
David Scurlock I want commenting to be unified across articles and the forums (FC) and I want articles to automatically cross-posted to a designated Space in FC. The example I shared above does this.
David Scurlock Yes, but their roadmap is influenced by user feedback and I am a Day 1 top-tier backer. That doesn't make my wants and feedback any more relevant than any other member, but I backed day 1 because of my investment in the Fluent ecosystem (substantial), and because I have a particular interest and background in online community solutions. My feedback on how important this feature would be to media websites and other content producers is relevant.
Whether or not Shahjahan Jewel and team agree is another thing, but I do hope they look at how much QoL Ross FCA is adding to FC and figure out a way to develop the core functionality while also adding more features and niche functionality. If one person can do so much, surely their full-time team can find a way.
If this is to be a true replacement for BuddyBoss, that needs to happen.
That would be insane, and I think, incredible... I'm not gonna hold my breath but one day if I ever seen that, it would be great. Complete comment replacement.
Zach T yeah definitely. It is a huge huge bumper this still hasnt been added! Even almost every other external tool allows for it
I think Zach T means like this David Scurlock ...
Gif too big I think... https://i.postimg.cc/dVWBc4X4/fca-comments-gif.gif
Ross FCA That is part of what is on my wishlist! The pother part is the comments showing on the posts outside of the community. And support for custom post types for both parts.
Is this a new add-on you are working? I am waiting for you to open the early supporter offer so I can start giving you money and encourage more of your excellent work. :)
Ross FCA nice! This is exactly what I'm looking for l! Does nesting of comments also work?
Wilco Wietsma I haven't added nesting but I can and will.
Ross FCA so the plugin is available already? 😮
Wilco Wietsma Not yet, just a proof of concept at the moment. I'll tidy it up and release it.
Ross FCA I am looking for public comments on the frontend to be synced to a topic in a space.
Will all published posts in a CPT or category/taxonomy (or a category/taxonomy of a CPT) assigned to a space show up as a topic after publication? And will comments in the space/topic sync back to the respective posts?
Co-signing on the nesting as well.
Zach T from the looks of the gif it does exactly this. Only not sure about CPT's.
Zach T please don’t take it to heart. I just noticed you actively referencing third-party projects unrelated to Fcom and praising BuddyBoss. Because of that, I can’t really understand your motivation for loudly saying you’re the main sponsor of the project while also trying to buy something from someone in the chat. It just looked a bit chaotic, so I laughed))
I liked your meme more, let’s call it 0–1 in your favor! And good luck with your projects — I genuinely hope you manage to set up WordPress post comments for Fcom as soon as possible, it’s an essential feature.
Artur Abakarov I don't, thanks for being a good sport and taking as good as you give.
I didn't say I was FC's main sponsor, I said I was a day-1 backer at the highest level, (which is true).
BuddyBoss has a lot of native functionality FluentCommunity is missing. If FC wants to be positioned as the superior alternative to BuddyBoss, it needs to offer a similar, or greater, depth and breadth of features. Hopefully this clears up any misunderstandings.
Zach T I understand you, okay)
Healthy conversations make everything better.
Hopefully the updated developer docs will tell me how to create a new post programatically with an image (not a video). Been waiting for this for a long time to auto post new blog articles etc to the feed. Tired of adding images manually.
Congrats!
I just tried adding the community block to two different test pages on my Breakdance website. It didn't work and got the message "Layout is already loaded before"
https://thesuccessdoula.com/community-test/ - Edit the page directly with Breakdance. Added post content block (which adds the section automatically)
https://thesuccessdoula.com/test-2/ - Uses the default page template (which is also section + content block )
Wendy Perkins Shoef did you ever resolve this? I'm using breakdance and just checking out any known problems
Saajz Azura No. I haven't had a chance to go back to this. Was hoping it would get resolved before I needed to open a tech support issue and troubleshoot it. Been working on other things in the mean time.
Wendy Perkins Shoef thanks for your reply
Thank you for fixing the bookmarks!
Please launch the overview courses so that new users can play around with this feature.
i wish they could focus more on certificate generation and final exam passing grades.....
Angela Grolet I wish they would focus more on monetization of non course sites, not everyone has courses. I guess we all of some sort of wishlist.
Shahjahan Jewel is it possible for the next update to also include to show when a comment has been editted?
Wilco Wietsma only for admin
Dany Tetreault I would like an option to enable it to see it as a user also. Just like Youtube does.
Wilco Wietsma it would be great if they can do it
This first Gutenberg block inside the paywall — does it mean we can finally hope that Gutenberg blocks will become usable inside the courses?
We installed LearnDash precisely because this feature didn’t exist, even though we wanted to build everything inside FluentCommunity.
Please tell us yes! 😂
Christophe Curci What blocks are you missing that LearnDash provides?
My own bloc gutenberg made with ACF for example
We need more Gamification please, with leaderboards.
Can we implement OpenBadges please?
