FluentCommunity 1.1.12 Release 🎉
We just released another big update of FluentCommunity. We have added a few new features (all suggested by the community), improvements, and bug fixes.
Let's see what's new & exciting:
- Multiple Bagde Support: Now you can add multiple badges to a profile
- Notification Type Icons: Now, you can easily identify the notification types. Thanks to Donald McGuinn for the idea.
- More FluentCRM Integrations: Now you can add or remove badges from automation as well as from contact bulk actions. You don't need FluentCRM Pro to use these features.
- Improvement in Courses: You can now disable comments from a course globally. Also, we have added a course progress bar on the lesson view.
- Space & Group menu management improved
- Add Option to Hide Students Count from Course Listings
- Added Option to disable Gravatar Profile Image
- Improved UX for Post Popup as few other screens.
- Improved Slug Generation for non-Latin characters
- A few more improvements and bug fixes across the plugin
What's next:
- We are working on a few items from the roadmap
- Files/Documents library for courses and spaces
- Jack confirmed WPFusion integration will be available after the BFCM
- More monetization options for your course and spaces.
- Something secret & exciting that we are working for the long-term goals.
- Theme compatibility (this will take a few months)
- Extensive testing with 100K users + 1M activities is going on. I will share the results later this week.
My goal is to make this community & LMS plugin:
- Super fast
- Super easy to use.
- Will not slow down the overall site even if you have tons of content in the community
- Response time should be under a second in a decent server.
- Bring 100K+ users & 1M+ activities and it does not break your decent server.
- Super clean code so others can easily integrate with us.
I think we achieved most things, but we will never settle! Again thanks @everyone for the amazing support.
PS: FluentCommuity is now officially the most sold product in a launch campaign in our whole portfolio of products! The 2nd one is FluentCRM.
EDIT: We had a MySQL error when creating a Space. We have released a new version 1.1.13 (the core free plugin only).
WOAH, this is great!
Shahjahan Jewel What happened to BuddyBoss import? This is the one I'm waiting for.
M. Stevens It's coming. We don't want to spoil everything ☺️
Shahjahan Jewel I understand that you want to surprise people. But from a customer viewpoint the migration from BuddyBoss and LearnDash is
for many a key element and a starting point to start working with your plugin. Everything that I do manual is a waste of time.
M. Stevens Can you user WP All Import & Export for the time being?
Gregory Storm Is that a question? Or did you do this yourself? I do not think this works. Furthermore it could upset the migration process in the future. A clean install would be better.
M. Stevens Yes, it's a question. I don't use BuddyBoss or LearnDash so I have not migrated those plugins / themes. But I am using WP All Import & Export to migrate an existing site to another and it has enough control and features to work for my needs so maybe it could work for yours. You can move all your users and all their content to whichever fields you want in FluentCommunity.
Thank you so much!
Shahjahan Jewel thank you so much! What's about BuddyBoss/LearnDash import feature?
Anri Maglakelidze BB importer is coming. We don't want to spoil everything ☺️
Thank you so much!
Thanks for making great progress in such short time! Really appreciate being able to see this product come to life and evolving 🤓
absolutly LOVE these updates. I'm blown away at the commitment you have to plugin's success.
Making it rain the awesome! As usual :)
amazing! thank you
Why no stripe integration and Tags so we can have tiers of community members...
software is useless untill these are implemented
Liam A McDonald That's harsh. If you want to monetize then we have a few options like you can use WooCommerce (with FluentCRM) / FluentForms / Paymattic (coming soon (free)), or any automation plugin to connect.
Managing payments is hard, and I think integrating with existing solutions is better than built-in payment.
stripe has a prebuilt checkout and a prebuilt subscription management portal.
All that is required of you is to connect the api call for account creation and space visibility.
There’s literally YouTube videos of it being implemented in 5 minutes.
I’m sorry if it sounds harsh. But it’s such a popular payment processor and so easy to integrate into products that I’m surprised it wasn’t integrated on launch.
I don’t have fluentCRM or paymattic. And won’t ever use them. As CRM and payments are already sorted in my business.
Liam A McDonald I totally understand your point. But statements like "software is useless untill these are implemented" is really harsh and do not reflect general feedback. If you are a developer please take a look of the developer docs and it's only few line of code to add someone to a course or a space programmatically: https://github.com/WPManageNinja/fluent-community-docs/
Shahjahan Jewel “software is useless”
Just means I have no use for the software until these can be implemented.
Saying “managing payments is hard” isn’t really true, stripe is a trillion dollar company due to making payments easy to implement online for developers.
the only reason they have that growth and got to the size they are is due to their ease of implementation. That’s why everyone uses them.
Liam A McDonald I have really good understanding with Stripe as we have stripe integration with FluentForms and Paymattic. What I meant, I don't want to build another payment system within FluentCommunity rather I am more interested to integrate with existing solutions.
Shahjahan Jewel heres an amazing pre-made solution you can easily intergrate with in under 5 minutes: https://stripe.com/
at the moment theres no payment systems inside of fluent community.
Liam A McDonald I think you mean "software is useless for ME" (if they don't implement what you want).
I think the founder has been clear, from the beginning, about the route he will take with this plugin.
I hope you can take advantages of FluentCommunity and all the features it offers.
Furthermore, I think this quote is final: "I don't want to build another payment system within FluentCommunity rather I am more interested to integrate with existing solutions."
As of November 14, 1.6 million live websites use Stripe. More than 100 companies process over $1 billion each via Stripe. Its a market leader, and not supporting it, is pretty silly in my opinion.
I'm sure your losing out on alot of customers without a simple (less the 5 minute) stripe integration.
Just because the "founder has been clear", doesn't mean i seen, heard or read that message, or even knew that i was talking to the founder.
all i did was ask for a stripe integration Jose Luis Duron
Liam A McDonald You can use stripe payment with FluentForms pro (right now) and Paymattic (Free, coming soon).
Liam A McDonald I don't even think you understand what you are asking for. There is a Stripe Payment integration via FluentForms right now, but you are asking for a native integration with the FluentCommunity App?
Why, exactly? Does it not make sense to connect to a payment platform via a form that will collect user information in the first place? Until there is a native integration, this sounds useless to you?
Shahjahan Jewel I don't think it is necessary to respond to this anymore. You have been very clear about it. I'd rather you spend your time answering real questions.
lol
its just a stripe intergration...
I dont have / want / need fluent forms....
The point is, trying to make me implement another plugin / system for something thats a 5 min implementation...
Liam A McDonald are you a developer?
Here you go: https://github.com/WPManageNinja/fluent-community-docs/
Implement it in 5 mins. Good riddance.
Liam A McDonald Tobi Salami Unless you are running FluentCommunity bare where it is your home page and you have nothing else going on your WordPress site, I still don't understand why you want Fluent Community to take payments. What's your use case?
Shahjahan Jewel I agree with Jose Luis Duron that FluentCommunity does not need it's own payment gateway.
As you said, Liam, Stripe has an easy way to implement payments. So just create a new user group or role through core WordPress and change the user's role to the new role on successful Stripe payment.
Another way you can get a more granular Stripe integration, with paid access to your site, is to look at a GamiPress. With GamiPress you can set up multiple levels there and have different access based on amounts paid through Stripe. https://gamipress.com/docs/gamipress-purchases/stripe/
Gregory Storm bingo thats exactly what im doing. its 1 plugin, sitting on its own wordpress server.
im not asking them to make a whole payment gateway, im was just asking for the prebuilt stripe checkouts, and memebrship management, that everyone uses, be easily connected to what an otherwise is an objectively good platform.
but forcing people to use other platforms, to make it useable, is such a detractor. (dont fight me for using the word useable)
its taken a super exciting platform for me, to a mid tier, cause they are trying to push me to use a payment platform ive never heard of, Paymattic, if it was software or a platform that i knew, i wouldnt be so up in arms about it.
Liam A McDonald Paymatic https://paymattic.com/ is made by the same company that made FluentCommunity so I'm guessing that's why they mentioned it.
Please walk me through your exact use case on what you would like to see happen on your site with payments and I'll see what solutions there are. Be specific with each step.
Shahjahan Jewel I think it's time to have a downvote button. So we can downvote harsh comments 🤔
Liam A McDonald What Implementing Stripe Payments in Fluent Community Would Entail
For Fluent Community to natively integrate payments through Stripe, it would require a series of changes to the plugin's architecture and design, including:
Integration of Stripe into the Plugin Core:
- A complete system would need to be implemented to process payments directly using the Stripe API.
- This would include payment forms, authentications, validations, and secure transaction management.
Membership and Access Management:
- Fluent Community would need to dynamically verify the status of memberships to determine which users have access to specific spaces or courses.
- This would require additional logic to connect payments with real-time access control.
User Interface Changes:
- Buttons, forms, and dynamic sections would need to be designed to adapt to the payment and membership status.
- The application would need to hide or display content based on the user’s access status.
Impact on Performance:
- Frequent queries to Stripe to verify memberships could slow down the plugin’s performance, which is currently optimized for speed and efficiency.
- Mechanisms like caching or conditional loading would need to be implemented to minimize this impact.
Ongoing Support and Scalability:
- Maintaining this integration would require frequent updates to adapt to changes in Stripe's API and ensure compatibility with new versions of WordPress.
Sombri Luna everythings already made by stripe...
they have prebuilt checkouts, pre built management of subscriptions.... all you would have to do is chuck in an api call to make the account, put them in the right spaces...
then you could manually add a link to the menu for community members to go to their stripe hosted management dashboard for their subscription....
instead dev wants to keep it in his plugins ecosphere. instead of supporting the second largest payment gateway online...
lets not forget everyone used stripe to purchase fluent community...
hey look stripe even give you the code to intergrate this
all that would be required from fluentcommunity is to build the api call connecting the two systems.
this would make the large percentage of businesses that use stripe happy...
read the doc's its already all done for you.
Liam A McDonald They are not keeping you in their ecosystem because you do not need to use a WP Manage Ninja plugin to accomplish what you want. There are numerous options out there. Including the stripe code you just posted. I asked you to walk me through your exact use case on what you would like to see happen on your site with payments to see if I could help you but instead you seem too focused on pointing out a problem instead of focusing on solving your problem.
Even though you seem to be the only one asking for this, the good news is you know where the link is to Stripe's code. Since you keep saying how easy it is, I think you should code the solution yourself and then sell it as an add-on to anybody else who thinks it will be useful. 💸
Gregory Storm While the requested role is valuable, the form of the request is concerning. We need to avoid giving the impression that we are demanding or devaluing the work of others.
Shahjahan Jewel will there be SureCart integration with FluentForms Pro?
Great - Fantastic
What i am looking for:
- Webhooks (Incoming)
- Course Analytics to see the Progress of each student.
-Conditional Links in Spaces depending on Tags
Ender Aysal incoming webhooks can be done with FCRM (pro?)
Great, moving fast! Thanks!
Great Job! Love that you've added badges with Automation and allowed basic FluentCRM to be able to manage automations and badges. Love you guys!
couldn't press update fast enough!
👏👏👏👏 Thank you very much and best regards from Bavaria.
Awesome !!!
Can't wait for those three 😀
Jack confirmed WPFusion integration will be available after the BFCM
More monetization options for your course and spaces.
Something secret & exciting that we are working for the long-term goals.
Pierre Debraux Where is Jack sharing WPFusion updates? I'd like to follow.
Pierre Debraux you mentioned that there would be an integration soon, where did you see this information from Jack?
Pierre Debraux haha not sure how I missed that, thanks!
Great to see LMS progress - will we see quiz integration soon, maybe utilising FluentForms?
Awesome update. Great Job as always. We can even hide the Leaderboard now. Yummi.
Mat if you hide it the points still counting?
Andre Gois Yes. I think so. I will check it later.
Andre Gois Yes. The points are dynamic.
Mat thanks
Shahjahan Jewel ok thanks
Man! This is awesome! 🚀
Today I had a meeting (booked with FluentBooking, of course) with somebody that want my help to implement FluentCommunity on his website, and he is stunned with the potential for the current stage of the plugin.
Jose Luis Duron So happy to hear that man <3
Files/Documents library for courses and spaces still scheduled for next week? This is the only update preventing me from opening my community to the public – the other updates I’m waiting for can be implemented while the project is ongoing. 😀FluentCommunity is turning out exceptional, congratulations!
Elisa Faria Files/Documents library amazing feature :D
Elisa Faria this is also what's stopping me from going all in with it too. Hopefully things stay on schedule.
Shahjahan Jewel can we have an ideia about when are you planing to launch the customs profile fields?
Andre Gois Hopefully within the next quarter.
Shahjahan Jewel for me that’s the main missing feature. Once it’s there I’ll probably be launching two or more communities, one of which will probably be quite large.
If I'm interpreting this correctly, for my purposes of building an integrated Consumer--Professional community, could I then offer an optional "Professional Profile", then, based on that User Role, the Pro could elaborate within their profile, to be found. (Example, a Chiropractor could share his/her specialty, credentials, schooling, treatments offered, etc). @Jewel, If you haven't yet, check out Alignable.com as an example of highly elaborated profiles in plain language. I'm chasing their model. It's a really cool community that's rivaling LinkedIn, when it comes to actual usefulness (and great vibe).
Any sneak peek of the file/resource system?? :)
Great update, waiting for the file/resources too.
Possible to add course rearangement option in the next update? Need to put them in the right order based on topic and learning order :)
Translatepress Integration is key to me.
Everything here is marvelous, Shahjahan Jewel!
You are setting standards here!
You guys are amazing, by the way, I'm still waiting for theme compatibility with thrive themes before I launch. Thanks for the latest update
As always, you guys are doing an amazing job, Shahjahan Jewel ! Are there any plans to control course progress for users individually? A backend dashboard to check/uncheck sections and lessions for students - manually or through automations - would help migration from anywhere, not just LearnDash.
Has the bug in courses been fixed where the sections re-order themselves if there are more than four sections added to a course? I’ve been moving my courses over and this bug is driving me crazy!
Congrats on such successful launch! Shahjahan Jewel
Its really taking shape Shahjahan Jewel , well done to you and team!
What do you mean with: Theme compatibility (this will take a few months) , what is going to be possible? Thanks for your hard work!!
Shahjahan Jewel do you have plans of at least having a theme where it's fully compatible. I mean some themes may not have a dark mode feature but fluent community does, what happens to such pages?
Shahjahan Jewel oh I see. Thanks !
Can we have the same option for tags as well? It keeps the entire community organised. TIA
Tanmay Kapse Topic requirement setting is available on space level.
I love the new "Added Option to disable Gravatar Profile Image" feature, finally we can start using FC in the EU. However, it does not work properly: After unchecking "Use Gravatar Photo Service" and saving it, the checkbox remains checked and the connection to wp.com & gravatar remain active #bugreport
Sascha Liem we noticed that and we fixed it already in our dev. Version. You can use that feature from the next release
Shahjahan Jewel curious as to know when the next release will be roughly?
Morgan McArthur As he said that will be next week.
Moha Alabri did not see where he said will be next week, anyhoos thanks for mentioning
Shahjahan Jewel that's awesome! Any idea when it will be possible to add any other WP pages to the community?
Johanna Armnius We are working on it and hopefully by January/February.
Shahjahan Jewel cool, thanks a lot for your answer
Shahjahan Jewel any timeframe on a bit more granularity on permissions and especially moderation? A great way of official moderators and community moderation is Tweakers! https://tweakers.net/info/faq/karma/#tab:1-2
(It's in Dutch but you can use a translation tool :))
Wow this amazing, cant wait
Super
The darn thing just works. ❤️
Deep Gratitude Shahjahan Jewel for creating such an awesome community platform as a plugin. My Search finally ended and I immediately grabbed this opportunity. Now, the community platform setup is complete and ready to launch today, first to my inner circle and later globally.
Shahjahan Jewel How often do you release updates for the FluentCommunity plugin?
