Fluent Community Everywhere v1.2.3 - Update 20 Feb
Hi all, I have updated the FC Everywhere plugin to include some additional features including dynamic sidebar links. You can grab it here:
https://acamedia.uk/fluent-community-everywhere-1.2.3.zip
Features:
Enable FluentCommunity header and sidebar on standard wordpress pages
Enable or disable this globally or per page
Disable on woocommerce pages
Custom menu groups and items for the sidebar - you can customise visibility for these based on logged in, member role, and space membership
Let me know what you would like to see added next!
BUGS - Critical error for some plugin combinations. Please let me know what they are.
FIXED
Individual page enabling when global was disabled
save_meta error
ADDED
Space widgets! Add a custom widget to the right sidebar of any space
Thumb reactions! Replace all heart reaction icons with thumbs
It gives error in the Kadence theme. It should be noted that I have my header created manually with Elementor page builder.
Sombri LunaΒ Thanks for that. I've only tested it with Hello Elementor theme. Main feature here is that you can create wordpress pages that include the FC menus. To add your wordpress header to native FC pages requires something different. I can add that next.
Sombri LunaΒ I installed Kadence but it all seemed to work ok for me. Does it just not work entirely. Does it work ok with another theme (i.e it's not another plugin conflicting)
Ross HΒ Yes, I had two outdated plugins that caused conflict (Dynamic visivility for elementor, Fluent CRM).
Then I deactivated them from my root folder.
In the end only the register_post_meta plugin error remained.
Sombri LunaΒ I have added another update, I don't have those plugins to test but will give them a go. Hopefully the register_post_meta error is fixed now.
Ross H I've tried it again and it's fixed! thanks.
Ross FCAΒ How can I show a custom widget at the top of the widget area? Are you developing the plugin any further? If not, are there other alternatives to place custom content in the right widget area?
Helmar RudolphΒ the free widgets plugin still works and let's you add widgets to the right hand space widget area. Available here https://fluentcommunityaddons.com/product/widgets/
There will be a more polished and powerful updated version soon.
Ross FCAΒ Interesting stuff you are doing. Please keep us posted as to progress on the website. For 399 p.a. I'd love to see more complete info on what those things can do. It's a bit sparse right now. :) That said, GREAT JOB! Keep it up!
Ross HΒ this is just getting better! Great to see you added in woocommerce exception ;-). Iβll play and get back with more requests as I think of them :-)
Paul HopkinsΒ thanks! I'm working on custom widgets for space sidebars that is almost working π€π»
Ross HΒ I meet a problem when I leave it disabled for all pages by default, then I am not able to turn it on for individual pages. Is that a bug?
Paul HopkinsΒ definitely a bug, let me fix that.
Paul HopkinsΒ Hopefully that's fixed if you download again. I've added custom space widgets too, that supports rich text and shortcodes.
Ross HΒ Sadly, I get a fatal error when I install this new version.
Paul HopkinsΒ RichardΒ I've updated again, with thumb reactions. Features should be disabled by default to hopefully avoid errors. I don't get any on my installation but I'm running not many plugins just now.
Ross HΒ I'll install it on a bare bones installation and slowly build the plugins up and tell you if I find one that is causing it :-)
Thumbs up reactions coming together nicely :) should be able to include that tomorrow.
Ross HΒ Paul Hopkins, how do the Custom widgets and Side Menu work?Β
Please never mind, I got it. Thank you
hey Ross HΒ Great job. On a barebones installation I have no problem with the Fatal Error :-). I don't want to overwhelm your generous donation of time so I am wondering how much more feedback/asks you want? I know Fluent will eventually roll out theme compatibility which may affect your work... but then we have no time frame for that lol. Can I ask some things?
Paul HopkinsΒ That's great news :) I am not doing this completely out of kindness, I need these features for my own community and can't really wait, so my motivation just now is to make this work for me and share what I have with the community so you all can benefit too. I'm more than happy to take requests and naturally welcome feedback and improvements that can benefit us all.
I don't need the wp header on fluent pages for example so I haven't focused on that, but I'll be adding that in today.
Please do ask away, feel free to DM if it's easier.
Ross HΒ thanks for sharing! I, too, donβt need the header thing, but itβs worth adding :-). One thing is css styling harmonisation. I can add font and font weight changes to various parts of FC with a snippet, but that doesnβt get carried over to the FC Everwhere header and sidebar. My first thought is to get my snippet to call on a css style file, and then call on that in my overall theme as well so there is consistency. I donβt know whether you can think of a more elegant solution?
Ross HΒ this is really great. Thank you so much for the generosity. Meanwhile, not sure it's an issue just wth Tutor LMS but seems like I cannot scroll down the course page or even the lesson, in fact all tutor pages including the dashboard.
Maybe this can be included in the upcoming release as well...
Sophia SamanyaΒ Hey I don't use TutorLMS but I'll try to look at this and why it would be happening
Fluent should just add you to their team, you are doing amazing job
Do you have a place where we can go to find the latest release?
It isn't working on my website.
Wendy ShoefΒ this is the latest one. It got a bit big and multi use and I decided to split it out into separate plugins. Then I ran out of free time π
How do i use this plugin. in my wp appearance section or in the settings of FC?
Thomas SchuurmansΒ It will add a menu item to your wordpress admin dashboard.
Sounds Great! But sadly it does't work at all. It just generates an error message and won't show the page.
