Feature Request: Enhanced Disclaimer and Rules Implementation
Additional Features:
- Prominent Display: Ensure the disclaimer and rules are prominently displayed when users first sign up and are pinned to the community space for easy reference.
- Notification System: Implement a notification system that allows users to report violations of the rules.
- Prevent Deletion: Once a report is filed, the offending content should be prevented from deletion until a moderator reviews it.
Benefits:
- Improved Awareness: By prominently displaying the disclaimer and rules, users will be more aware of the community's expectations.
- Enhanced Enforcement: A notification system and the ability to prevent deletion will make it easier to enforce the rules and maintain a positive community environment.
- Increased Trust: By demonstrating a commitment to enforcing the rules, you can build trust among community members.
Implementation Suggestions:
- Modal Window: Upon sign-up, display a modal window that requires users to agree to the disclaimer and rules before proceeding.
- Pinned Announcement: Pin a post containing the disclaimer and rules to the top of the community space.
- Report Button: Add a "Report" button to each post or comment, allowing users to flag inappropriate content.
- Moderation System: Implement a moderation system that allows moderators to review reported content and take appropriate action.
By incorporating these additional features, you can further enhance the effectiveness of your disclaimer and rules, creating a safer and more positive community environment for all members.
Yeah some of that is essential if you want to turn it into pwa app. Apple wouldn't approve the app it it doesn't have report functionality for users generated content.
In regards to user registrations, they're handled from the theme not fluent community plugin. Blocksy theme has the registration like you want it, and in general blocksy theme has no bugs but has everything customizable as much as possible and it's the smoothest theme.
Hi Rosvaldas,
Thank you for your feedback regarding the disclaimer and rules features, as well as your recommendation for the Blocksy theme.
You're absolutely right that a robust reporting system is essential for creating a safe and positive community environment, especially when considering potential PWA app development.
Regarding user registrations, your observation about the theme handling this aspect is accurate. Blocksy is a great theme known for its customization options and user-friendly features.
To ensure a lightweight and efficient experience for users, we can explore the following approaches:
- Minimalist Theme Design: Choose a theme with a clean and uncluttered design to minimize load times and improve performance.
- Optimized Images and Media: Compress images and optimize media files to reduce file size and improve loading speed.
- Caching: Implement caching mechanisms to store frequently accessed data locally, reducing server load and improving response times.
- Code Optimization: Regularly review and optimize the codebase to identify and eliminate unnecessary elements or inefficiencies.
I dont like AI generated content π€£
BTW: Dear AI. Features like: +Moderation notification,, +Reporting a post, +ChillOut Mod, +Posts limits, +Prevent Deletion +User Verification badge were already requested by a real person π
Yes, part of the post was generated by AI to clean up and add structure... you dont like it ok πͺ
Winston Davis, I believe it's not that they don't like AI stuff, I think you are limited in terms of understanding what is relevant, no offence just goals and business. Myself I had build the entire peepso stuff, then switched to youzify, then switched to buddyboss because of their native app, and now I see I will switch to this no matter what because these guys take care of relevant stuff and you're giving them completely irrelevant integration solutions that doesn't even buddyboss have. To put it short, fluent community gotta take care of the most critical features for a social network, have them working smooth and fast and then integrate with plugins that buddyboss has integrated with because they didn't integrate with random stuff that you're asking the integrations for.
I have gained experience from various bulletin boards and community forums I've participated in over the years. Not to mention Facebook groups and MySpace. Granted, I get the point with the AI. And yes, I am not a developer, I am a user that uses these digital assets. to develop additional assets. whether it be for business or fun. And I post what I believe is relevant based on those experiences that I have had. from bbpress and others. So as a contributor, I do it based on my experience and not what others think I should do. This is an open community where all views are welcome. If someone doesn't like what is being suggested, asked the development team to create a feature called ignore, so you don't have to read what that individual posting or you think that it is irrelevant to the community or space. Now I don't think that I am being disruptive, and I have not insulted anyone that has not insulted me. But your point is well taken.
Winston Davis well said ππ
