Feature Request - Courses module. We can have the ability to:

  • sort courses by A-Z, Z-A, Publication/Update Date: Last year/month/week + Custom Period: Latest/Newest, Popularity: Most popular, Completion status (New, In Progress, Completed), Rating score (Top/Bottom), Category, Skills name Last enrolled courses list etc.

  • filter courses by: Category, Rating, Skills, Date (This vs Last Year/Month/Week + custom period) etc.

  • see preview on a Course Card: how many users are Enrolled/Completed + even maybe preview list of users on that course,

  • define course category so they can be grouped/filtered and/or sorted by this category on the courses list

  • to define different learning path (Pro) so Course Admin/Creator can assign training to that path. Once all trainings are completed in that path user get a new Competency badge based on the path course level: from Basic.. to Expert.

  • create skill list (Pro) - once the course is completed a Skill tag can be displayed on the User Profile page.

  • to send reminders if course is not completed in x days. In this case the user doesnt give up or doesnt forget and stay on the track the course

  • select which lessons are free (Public) - course preview for free users (free gift).

  • select which lessons are New or Updated - so users can Enroll or Redo them.

  • select which courses are New, Updated, Promo - a tag could be displayed on the course card where all courses are listed.

  • specify difficulty level for a Course (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert) - we can display the difficulty on the Course card

  • specify course duration and display it on the Course Card (if applicable)

  • enter course prerequisites (if applicable) - what trainings needs to be completed first - this can be visible on the Course Card on hover (tolltip)

  • create assessments with fForms (Pro) and enter them the same way as YT video or via shortCode.

  • select if user can start training without PreTest and/or PostTest (Pro). If the user complete both test then we can show the Knowledge Growth (Pro) for the user and his final score/marks vs other users average score in the last x months.

  • to set recurring courses (Pro) - we could define if the user should renew course/assessment after x months - example: Safety Trainings.

  • to have: random quizes or any conditional logic (Pro) for Lessons - if the previous lesson was completed and quiz/test = pass then next lesson is available.

  • to collect a feedback (Pro) from the course (if feedbackis enabled) so other users to see that feedback list for each course card. That Feedback can be also embeded with shortcode on our Landing Page).

  • to collect the course ratings (Pro) once completed (if rating is enabled) and later display it (average) on the Courses list for each training so other users can see it.

  • to post a completed training by user with the automatic notification in the Spaces group so everybody can see it.

  • to specify how many points in the Leaderboard the user get for the course (Pro but I am not sure how the Gamification is embeded in to trainings). How do we specify rules for the Leaderboard and manage them. Can we assign points to the course so after completion user will get them to his ranking?

  • to see historical data showing training attempts (Pro) - summary (total of questions, total points/marks, earned points/marks, level for pass points/mark, Result: Pass/Failed (if completed).

  • to have course reviews list (Pro) and how those reviews can be published later on our landing page - (shortcode?) or how they can be automaticllay publised in a Space so other users can see that a review was submitted - this auto publish feature (Pro) inside our post could be also enabled/disabled when the user complete the course.

Questions:

  • how to integrate courses with any certificates (Pro if applicable)

  • can we send email notification for students when:

    • a studend is enrolled
    • course/quiz is completed
    • certificate was generated (Pro)

I would prefer NONE of this. If someone wants this, I think they should integrate with a dedicated LMS.

I think FluentCommunity should have the ability to do a simple course and control who sees it. Nothing more. If you want more, integrate with an LMS.

I agree with Christopher. I already have LearnDash (escaped from TutorLMS), and I'd rather see development focus on building a super robust community than wasting time duplicating functionality that is done very well elsewhere. This has the potential to be way less hassle to install/maintain than BuddyPress/boss, peepso, and others.

I don't think it needs to become a fully fledged LMS system, but matching Skools features I think is important.

Filtering & sorting - yes

Seeing how many people are enrolled in a course - Skool doesn't do that in the classroom.

Quizzes - Just setup a FluentForm and use those stats. You can easily set up an automation to generate a "Certificate" with dynamic data & FluentCRM Automations or just passing parameters to a URL. Or use Flowmattic Canva integration

Course feedback - again, use FluentForms. The issue here is not being able to use a page builder or other blocks/shortcodes in either the lessons or any types of custom pages. Being able to modify course/space footers or sidebars would be great, because here you add a shortcode for a popup or something for "Help" or "Feedback" and a FluentForm.

Conditional Logic - it would be clever to implement Lesson visibilty/unlock by tags/automations, just like you can unlock access to the full course.

Recurring Courses - isn't there an options to people to 'retake' the course already? If so, then just setup an automation to send an email reminder in x amount of months to retake the course.

I agree that some of these points are way too advanced for most people's needs and you just need a proper LMS. In that case, FluentCommunity needs to be able to have a comment embed on pages/CPTs/LMS lessons (a global embed shortcode would be better and more versatile) - which then feeds into a space, and ultimately, the timeline. Then we wouldn't have to use the FluentCommunity Course option and still get a more unified user experience and conversations.

Anastasiya G, it would be nice to have the possibility to just embed fFroms shortcode in the Lesson (same way as YT) nothing else is needed.

Anastasiya G,embedding comments on LMS plugins lessons and courses would be so great and a great solution too!

They are probably wanting to intergrate it instead

Thank you so much for putting this together! I find filtering is an essential feature :)
