EXISTING MEMBERS: Hi Shahjahan Jewel, this is an amazing initiative indeed. We have been looking at ways of building a 'community' platform for our existing registered members and we have no experience on how to take them through this transition. So, I have a few questions since we have never built/managed a community.

  1. How do we bring our existing registered users to the community platform?
  2. How do we keep the platform closed to only 'approved' members?
  3. How do we bridge the two platforms together specially when we are using FluentCRM?
  4. How do we set permissions for each member to create their own groups and upload their content?
  5. How do we unify the nav-menu between the two platforms?
  6. When is the platform expected to be live to invite actual users?
  7. Will the platform be a fully white label solution?

Shahjahan Jewel

Hello, Dan, thanks for checking out the latest version of the beta. Here are the answers to your queries:

  1. So when a registered user visits the community page for the first time, the plugin automatically creates the profile from the user data.
  2. Currently, you can set which user roles can access the platform. You can also ban any member if you want. We already have hooks where you can control who can access to the platform programmatically.
  3. We already have a great integration with FluentCRM. You can run automation to add/remove from spaces or courses, filter contacts based on space/course membership, and send emails. We will add more integrations.
  4. Currently, you can add moderators / admins globally or space specific.
  5. FluentCommunity is 100% frontend and what you are seeing here. You can definitely add custom links.
  6. We have a few things left like new UI, and some major features that we are working on. Hopefully, within October, we will release it to the public. But maybe in early October, we will offer an exclusive lifetime deal to the beta users only.
  7. White-Label? We don't have any branding or anything so it's already white-labeled!

Hi Shahjahan Jewel, thank you for the prompt reply. We have custom user roles on for our existing members, but will the community 'know' who is the preapproved and registered user on our website? Do we have to first migrate or sync the registered users to the community platform?

Shahjahan Jewel

Dan, for migration existing users as bulk is work in progress.

Dan H

Shahjahan Jewel, what about sync between FluentCRM & Community. We could setup a workflow where as soon as the user is approved at the website level, they will sync to community and an receive an invitation email to join the community.

Jonathan Gwyer

Dan,you can already add and remove users to Spaces with FluentCRM automations.

Dan H

Jonathan Gwyer, really. Is there a tutorial or video on how that works? But the platform is not ready to Go-Live yet.

Jonathan Gwyer

Dan,when you have FluentCRM and FluentCommunity installed on the same site, extra action blocks will appear in FCRM automations...

Dan H

Jonathan Gwyer, we were thinking of creating a separate site for the community and keeping that on a separate server just in case the community server goes down the main site should stay live. What is your opinion?

Dan H

Jonathan Gwyer, we only have two options compared to your five options? Do you have something else installed?

Jonathan Gwyer

Dan,you're looking at the triggers - my screenshot was the actions.
