**Error**: reCAPTCHA verification failed.

Please, someone assist. I sent an invitation to an invitee, and they responded via email with the following: Is there anything I am doing wrong or need to correct on my side? "Thank you for the invite to join the Market traders’ hub. I’ve tried to create an account there, but I'm getting the following error Error: reCAPTCHA verification failed."

Tobi AkiodeΒ I am not sure if all your users have that error or only one user.

If all users face this issue then change your reCaptcha Keys (you can also disable cache for troubleshotting)

In addition... (in case you dont have a Google LOL).

A "reCAPTCHA validation failed" error typically means the website's security system, which uses reCAPTCHA to distinguish between humans and bots, couldn't verify the user's interaction as legitimate. This can happen due to various reasons, including network issues, browser problems, or even suspicious user behavior.Β

Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:

  1. Network and Browser Issues:
  • Poor internet connection:

A weak or unstable internet connection can interfere with reCAPTCHA's ability to communicate with Google's servers.Β

  • Outdated browser:

Ensure your web browser is up to date, as older versions might have compatibility issues.Β

  • Browser extensions or plugins:

Some browser extensions, particularly those related to privacy or security, might conflict with reCAPTCHA. Try disabling them temporarily to see if it resolves the issue.Β

  • Browser profile issues:

A corrupted browser profile can also cause problems. Consider creating a new profile or clearing your browser's cache and cookies.Β

  • VPN or proxy:

If you're using a VPN or proxy server, it could be interfering with reCAPTCHA. Try temporarily disabling it or contacting your VPN provider.Β

  1. Suspicious User Activity
  • Automated scripts or bots:

reCAPTCHA is designed to detect automated traffic. If the system suspects you're using a bot, it may fail the validation.Β

  • Suspicious IP address:

reCAPTCHA might flag an IP address as suspicious if it's associated with a large number of automated requests or if it's known for malicious activity.Β

  • Too many requests:

If you're sending too many requests in a short period, it could trigger reCAPTCHA's security measures.Β

  1. reCAPTCHA Configuration Issues:
  • Incorrect reCAPTCHA keys:

Make sure the website is using the correct reCAPTCHA keys (Site Key and Secret Key).Β

  • Score Threshold settings:

For reCAPTCHA v3, the score threshold might be set too high, making it difficult for legitimate users to pass verification.Β

  • Code errors or misconfigurations:

Typos in the code or incorrect settings in the reCAPTCHA admin console can also cause problems.Β

  1. Other Potential Causes:
  • In-app browsers:

If you're accessing the website through an in-app browser (e.g., within a social media app), it might not handle reCAPTCHA correctly. Try opening the website in a separate browser.Β

  • Expired or used token:

reCAPTCHA tokens have a limited lifespan. If the token is too old or has already been used, validation will fail.Β

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Try a different browser or device: This helps isolate whether the issue is browser-specific or related to your device.Β
  2. Check your internet connection: Ensure you have a stable and reliable connection.
  3. Update your browser and extensions: Keep your browser and extensions up to date.Β
  4. Disable browser extensions: Temporarily disable any extensions that might be interfering with reCAPTCHA.Β
  5. Clear browser cache and cookies: This can help resolve issues with corrupted browser profiles.Β
  6. Contact the website owner or administrator: If you've tried the above steps and are still experiencing problems, reach out to the website's support team or administrator for assistance.Β
  7. Consider the reCAPTCHA score threshold: Adjusting the score threshold in the reCAPTCHA admin console can help.Β
  8. Check for malware: Run a scan to ensure your device is free of malware.Β
  9. Be mindful of suspicious activity: Avoid actions that might trigger reCAPTCHA's security measures, such as sending too many requests in a short period
