That said, I do feel something like this should eventually be built into Fluent Community itself (similar to how Huddle by IMU handles certificates).

You can hit the search, type certificate, and you'll see a lot of FC users requesting for it.
So that prompt me in creating certificates for FC users.

Considering that several people are requesting this feature, I believe it would help a lot of people.
Rafael Piton not all projects would be added to Fluent community, that's why addons are created by individuals.
If you've used buddy boss, circle, xngine and the rest you'll find out that not everything users request for, are available.
