Community post link must open in a new tab while drafting a post
I was about to finish a long post that I was drafting for about 20+ minutes, combining different sources and all.
I mistakenly clicked on a community post link (a post from Shahjahan) in my own draft, and POOFβit's all gone. ππππ
Now, I'll have to rewrite everything! I think this must be fixed, please! π
Note: This happens ONLY when the link is for a post from the community itself. Other links do open in a new tab.
Here's a demo for your quick reference:
This was (maybe is) also an issue with Fluent Support. Since the input fields arenβt part of standard web forms, the browser doesnβt store unsubmitted text so it can be recovered after an accidental page navigation.
I had this happen yesterday. I was giving a detailed response for someone. I ended up not doing it because I was frustrated.
WendyΒ Perkins ShoefΒ I totally understand. It can indeed be frustrating. And that's why I'm concerned about user experience (for my community members).
I think the better solution is saving of draft posts, I've lost a few myself just by accidental hitting a link or swiping back. Internal links opening inside the SPA is the intended function so wouldn't make sense to change that.
The GS, Thanks for your feedback, I will report it to my team lead.
Tawsif Ahmed RiyadΒ Thank you, Tawsif! I appreciate it! π
