Built-in SEO & Structured Data is coming soon!
Testing the upcoming Sitemap features. As Google started prioritizing user-generated content like forums/discussions, our team is making sure FluentCommunity is compatible with Search Engines and supports Google Recommended SEO schema for forums / Discussions. I just submitted a sitemap with the valid schema for each discussion post. I will share the results once everything is indexed properly.
This feature will be available in the next version.
I hope that this feature can be switched off. The content in my community is confidential.
But it's good that you think along for publicly visible communities!
Peter Claus LamprechtΒ The sitemap will only index the contents which are public. if your community is not public then the posts will not be pushed to the sitemap. it will also disable indexing for secret or private space contents.
Shahjahan Jewel, great. I want my community to fly ββbelow the radarββ.
Shahjahan JewelΒ great!
Amazing π
Shahjahan JewelΒ Really good π How about public courses? It will be included on sitemap?
If not complex, I hope verified members are included on sitemap too.
Cuong ThachΒ yes.
Shahjahan JewelΒ Nice β€οΈ Discussion forum schema validation is great for SEO. Thanks team!
Shahjahan JewelΒ just to be clear: my community could only be accessible for logged-in users, but the spaces within the community have to be public, to work with this feature, correct?
- If you set the whole community accessible only for logged-in users then you don't need a sitemap for the community and fluent-community will not index any of the posts
- If you set the community as public then only posts from public spaces will be included in the sitemap XML file.
Shahjahan JewelΒ ah ok, but wouldnβt it be nice to generate traffic to the community, even if itβs only for logged in users, to drive traffic to my community/ sales page.
I mean isnβt your community here just for logged in users, too?
Manuel MΓΌllerΒ if it's only for the logged in users how the content will be visible to the search engine?
This community is public now. People have to log in to post / add a comment.
Nice one
Love it! (You read my mind on this one.. I was about to suggest that lol)
Nice addition. This is something I've definitely wanted!
Hi hi! Shahjahan JewelΒ question, could this be an option that is still indexed but that the user has to join to read/see?
Marie DeneeΒ If a public user can't read a content, google can't!
Shahjahan JewelΒ Our public community will be incorporated into our website. Will this SEO and structured Data play nice with our existing SEO and Structured Data? How do I make them play friendly?
Earlier we used "BuddyPress", had multiple problems with respect to page speed and SEO optimization. So had to shutdown because of these. Good to know that this community plugin is focusing on SEO.
