Bug? Adding files and documents in the Spaces shouldn't be considered as a post and published on the Feed.
This is usually not revelat for the community. Shahjahan Jewel
When you add a document, it shows to the feed. We added a dedicated space for documents so users can easily find the documents as it's an important module.
Shahjahan Jewel Yes i totally get it - this is great feature - question is if adding documents should be visible to all users in the feed - for me it seems like this is not a post so it is not relevant to the information and can be considered more as trash information. But this is my way of seeing it.
Jarek Kaniewski I believe you can 'untick' the box to make a post, when you create de document.
Jarek Kaniewski Once posted, everyone can see and download the documents if they have feed access of that space. As an Admin you can configure who can add a new document. (Mods / Members or Both).
Uhhh... my mistake! There is an option to choose if it is a post or not!!!! SORRRY!!!! Thank you J V - sorry Shahjahan Jewel
The only issue I found, and I reported it as a bug so unsure it has been fixed, if you don't make it a post, you cannot re-edit and replace documents. Also, when a user clicks the header that the document is attached to, it brings up a "page not found". I still have those bugs open in the system with videos showing the problem
Mark Palmer Yes, I tried that and you are right. It give an error that in order to edit it needs to be in published state and there is no way to do that. So the post does not exist, however attached files can be viewed by the user.
If one posts and deletes the post later, the documents are also gone.
Please have a look Shahjahan Jewel
Mark Palmer The issue will be fixed in the next version. Our devs already patched the issue in the dev branch.
