Buddypress Drop-in Replacement
I purchased the LTD here and FluentCRM .. because the speed and efficiency of this community plugin blows BuddyBoss/Buddypress out of the water and I hope to one day implement it IF we can integrate it with our other plugins. Kudos to the authors.

For your sales sake, I hope and suggest as you develop your plugin's theme integration feature, I hope you can make your community plugin as Buddypress-compatible as you can when it comes to integration with other plugins. There are hundreds of plugins/themes that are baked in as Buddypress compatible. If you can make it so FluentCommunity is a drop-in replacement for Buddypress as the team at Buddyboss did, your sales will skyrocket in comparison than if you don't.
The website we developed is so reliant on Buddypress functions (aka the notification system, the x-profile system, etc) that I can already see, migrating to this community plugin is going to be a bear .. because all of our theme/plugins that have "buddypress integration" will likely break, unless we find some way to sync the profiles.
Still, I am hesitant to use Buddypress/Buddyboss for all it's community features due to the bloat .. but the profile features are so heavily integrated with other plugins that we are forced to stick with Buddypress for now until we can find a way to migrate.
Just a suggestion, but one I hope the developers will take seriously as broad integration will definitely impact overall sales.
I agree with everything you said, but please keep in mind that BuddyPress came out 15 years ago. 3rd party integration and compatibility takes time.
Aaron Liang agreed, but the point was if they used the same hooks, or created a compatibility layer plugin, they wouldn't have to play catch up .. they would instantly be the new leader.
I hear you man. I just migrated from BuddyBoss / LearnDash to Fluent Community. My online film school doesn't launch until next year, so I only had about 40 early birst students enrolled which made it doable. But I was still signing in as them and posting their updates from the old site. ARGH.
However, I'm thrilled that Fluent Community has nothing to do with BuddyPress. It's old, antiquated code that needs to go bye-bye.
Now, if there was a dev who could crank out a migration tool, they could make a chunk of change right now.

A migration tool is great .. but I was referring to was more the ecosystem of plugins and themes that currently hook into buddypress .. specifically for profile usage. For example .. the ability to see someone's profile and their authored content on your website. Or more significantly to manage their own content.
Also the ability for plugins to hook into the buddypress notification system. Either for creating them (or disseminating them as in Push Notifications or SMS).
If the Fluent team can make these hooks a drop in replacement in a similar way Buddyboss did .. they will have a pre-existing ecosystem to work with, which will directly affect sales.
Imagine if someone came out with something better than Android or Iphone. It's great until you realize there are not many apps that work with it. However, if the developers had forethought to make it pre-compatible .. then they could have a massive ecosystem to start with and not pushed aside due to "ecosystem dominance".
Jason G makes sense. The issue could be the quality of existing apps that hook in as any bugs or performance hits would then be associated with fluent community. It's like back in the days of 16-bit applications. When the first 32-bit OS came out, you could run the 16-bit apps, but they could never fully utilize the newer OS. I want vendors who want to hook in to do it in an updated, clean, efficient way vs the old bloat of buddypress, buddyboss, etc.
