ASK ME ANYTHINGS (AMA)

Hello @everyone I am currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and attended WordCamp MY as a sponsor. I have met so many wonderful people. Could not do much work. But I am back and will release a new update later today.

I will be available next few hours. Please feel free to ask any questions regarding our company, vision, products, the deal, etc. Please skip feature request-type questions.

Pierre

Could you give more infos/hints about the next big product in the Fluent series ?😃

Shahjahan Jewel

Pierre Debraux We have been working on a really BIG project for the last 2 and a half years. It will be the biggest project so far in our portfolio. The idea was from 2019 (and registered the domain at that time) but did not have enough resources to work on that. Hoping to release early 2025.

Mahmoud Obeidi

Shahjahan Jewel Hello, nice to see you again. Could you give us some hints about the next products?

Mahmoud Obeidi

Shahjahan Jewel I'm sure it has something to do with the directory🧐

Aaron Liang

Mahmoud Obeidi it’s a page builder 😁

Mahmoud Obeidi

Aaron Liang ⭐ With all the fluent modules incorporated....

Hello Shahjahan😊 about 1 year ago during the launch of fluent booking I asked if you were going to make this also available for booking hotels/rooms/aparments/rentals etc. You confirmed this was coming 1st half 2024. It is still the most voted feauture on your road map, but only under consideration. Can you please clarify what is coming and aproximately when. I know I’m not the only one buying based on this addision to fluent booking.

Thanks

Shahjahan Jewel

Reidar H Tingstad We are doing some extensive R&D, and I hope, I can give an update next month. In case, we can't deliver that feature and as you mentioned, you bought based on that feature. We will issue a refund if required.

Mahmoud Obeidi

Reidar H Tingstad I would advise you to be patient and trust the team. Personally, I’m gradually purchasing all their products because I believe in their development skills and fully support their vision. It’s rare to see so many true WordPress enthusiasts working together to deliver such amazing and highly anticipated products. In my opinion, it’s an excellent investment for the future.

Mahmoud Obeidi

Reidar H Tingstad I eat corn while waiting for the caviar 😁

Alabri

We missed having you and your participation for several days. We’re happy to have you back🫡

Alabri

I have a very important question for me, and my launch depends on it:
In your estimation, when will the application be published?

Shahjahan Jewel

Moha Alabri Which application specifically?

Alabri

Shahjahan Jewel third party app for Fluent Community

Shahjahan Jewel

Moha Alabri We had a meeting the 3rd party devs early this week. I will share some exciting news and updates soon.

Karl Emil Nikka

Thanks for hosting this AMA. Can you tell us more about the reasoning behind having FluentCRM’s subscription status connected to the contact instead of the contact’s lists? It’s a design decision that I haven’t seen in other newsletter tools where instead each list has it’s own subscription status, opt-in mail etc.

Shahjahan Jewel

Karl Emil Nikka When we were building FluentCRM we made the status attached to the contact directly. I belive other CRM like ActiveCampaign do the same.

The lists are just another top-layer category like tags. Maybe we could skip the whole lists features.

Barna Buxbaum

How do you see the future of development in WordPress (and general)? Is your team already using AI as boosters to make them superdevs in work?

Did you consider the "Fluent package" under a different platform like Laravel?

Shahjahan Jewel

  1. I am positive about the future of WordPress. Other platforms are getting popular so WP. Also, more companies are working on WordPress Eco-System to make it better. I think WordPress eco-system is unbeatable as lots of companies are building awesome things.
  2. Yes, we gave OpenAI, Cloude access to all of our team members. We want to embrace the new techs wherever possible. For devs, we have strict rule that, any code generated by AI should be reviewed line by line before commit to git.
  3. Fluent package: Not at this moment.

Karl Emil Nikka

We all know that FluentCRM is the best newsletter tool. The only reason I still recommend a competitor in some situations are the few GDPR compliance issues that have been left unaddressed in FluentCRM. Do you know if/when a fully GDPR compliant version will be released?

Shahjahan Jewel

Karl Emil Nikka I think the only thing we missed is email click / open tracking. We are still doing the R&D on it, and to be honest, we could not find a better solution. So we have to disable the tracking altogether (users can do via hook). We also checked almost all the popular opensource solutions and checked their implementation and I see their implementation is same as ours.
If you have any better idea please feel free to send my way via DM.

Karl Emil Nikka

Shahjahan Jewel Thanks for the reply. Other than support for conditional tracking (contacts who want to be tracked for improved relevancy can consent to tracking) and a simple counter for other contacts, we also need the fonts issue to be fully addressed.

Karl Emil Nikka

How do you think Automattic’s behavior will change the future of WPManageNinja’s focus on WordPress? I’m mostly thinking of Automattic’s supply chain attack on ACF and that they now have published a nulled version of ACF Pro in their own name.

Edit: spelling.

Shahjahan Jewel

Karl Emil Nikka I love WordPress, and we try to contribute to WordPress core as much as possible. About 80% of our developers contributed to WordPress Core once or multiple times. We have an open policy in our office, anyone can work on WP Core during their office hours and we appreciate that as well.

So, these things will not change due to the current drama. I believe Matt could handle the whole thing differently and gently. But it's unfortunate that it happened. As an entrepreneur in WordPress Enthusiast, my focus did not change.

Liam McDonald

When will webhooks / in app automation be available for fluent community...?

i dont want to use fluent CRM for automation etc, as it doesn't fit my other tech stack...

would love to be able to use this platform to the fullest.

Shahjahan Jewel

Liam A McDonald Hopefully within next 1-2 weeks

Liam McDonald

Shahjahan Jewel You've made me an extremely happy man

Aaron Liang

Any news or interesting stories you can share from the WordCamp?

Shahjahan Jewel

Aaron Liang ⭐ Someone bought FluentCommunity in front of me and a few people shared how excited they are about this product and they are going to migrate from other platforms once we have one-click migration tool.

Zahidul Fitri

Shahjahan Jewel Its me lol. I bought FluentCommunity because of all the line up fluent product. Im very happy to see you in Malaysia!

Johanna Armnius

Thanks for this AMA.
1. Is there a hook that can be used when Fluent Community sends a notification?
2. Will there be an even feature in Fluent Community with RSVP in spaces? If yes, will this be a FluentBooking feature? If yes, is there an ETA?
3. Is there or will there be a direct integration between FluentForms and FluentCommunity, especially regarding courses quizz?

4. In FluentCommunity, is it possible to change the /portal and /space URLs to translate that in our languages?
Thanks a lot in advance

Shahjahan Jewel

  1. Currently, no hook is available to send notifications, but We will add that next week along with other hooks.
  2. YES and you are right. We are working on it and it will be a nice integration with FluentBooking.
  3. Currently, we have a direct integration with FluentForms where you can add a form submitter to any space or course. Our whole course module will have lots of features and we will definitely add FluentForms more into it.
  4. URLs should not be translatable and it will create lots of internal issues.

Johanna Armnius

Shahjahan Jewel thanks a lot, appreciate your time to answer!

Johanna Armnius

Shahjahan Jewel Actually, I have one more question regarding notifications hooks: what I'm looking for is not a hook to send notifications but a hook to "get" a notification that is sent; will this also be part of next week release?

Shahjahan Jewel

Johanna Armnius Would you please let me know your use case so I can understand.

Johanna Armnius

Shahjahan Jewel Yes, being able to use WPMobile.app. https://wpmobile.app/en/
and having push notifications.
I love their plugin. The dev is very responsive. It's a one-time payment instead of other 3rd parties for apps. And it simply works.
The dev is ready to update the plugin to integrate FluentCommunity notifications if the hook is available. Is it possible to make it available to not limit us to one provider.
Here is the dev answer "ask them if there's a hook I can use when Fluent community sends a notification. If possible, I'll update the plugin to take it into account ;)"

Johanna Armnius

Shahjahan Jewel Hope you can answer this one, this will be the main factor of decision between FluentCommunity and its new competitor, thanks.

Shahjahan Jewel

Johanna Armnius We will add hooks when we add a notification.

Mat ‎

Johanna Armnius yes they have awesome LTD pricing

Robert Lee

Johanna Armnius Hopefully this will happen soon. I need this.

Ryk Melck

Shahjahan Jewel I actually said to myself that I was not going to burden you with anything until you found your feet again. The FluentCommunity launch seems to have attracted a lot of attention, and for good reason. Some of us have been using your fluent Family of products for a long time. So it's easy for us to integrate our setup with FluentCommunity Pro.

As you well know Fluent Community Pro works best with FluentCRM pro, and a few others. Have you considered selling a grouped plugin/Bundle? I'm not talking about Black Friday deal? I'm referring to a deal that's available all year and is not part and should never be part of any discount deal.

Shahjahan Jewel

Ryk Melck my marketing team is pushing me to bundle some of our products. I started thinking about it. Maybe we will make FluentCommunity and CRM in a bundle in the future.

Mat ‎

Shahjahan Jewel the sooner is better so you will steal a lot of #BuddyCircleAndOthers clients before there will be more options (they listen here too) haha

Mohamed Eraky

Are you going to allow interactions to fluent community from outside the fluent ecosystem? Like using api or adding options to the wordpress dashboard to enroll learners in courses and so on? Or it will be only using the fluent crm and forms?

Shahjahan Jewel

Mohamed Eraky FluentCommunity is a standard WordPress plugin and anyone can build any any integration. We have release the developer docs as well. Please check this:
https://github.com/WPManageNinja/fluent-community-docs/blob/master/code-snippets.md

Flowmattic already added the integration and you can connect with anything actually.

Mohamed Eraky

Shahjahan Jewel That is really awesome. thanks alot🤩

Debo Ogunrinde

Shahjahan Jewel How would you respond to a "competitor", describing FluentCommunity this way? "it's a side-loading application with its own data structure. The challenge with that is if they don't build a feature or capability that you want, there's no way that you're getting it unless you're going to spend thousands of dollars on custom development."

Emma

Shahjahan Jewel I want to know if there's any product coming to save us from woo commerce? I am looking for alternative that has better speed. I know there's Surecart thing but would love to know if you guys have plans.

Shahjahan Jewel

Emma I know there is an empty space in this category. As an open-source enthusiast, I wish SureCart would be a self-hosted plugin like WooCommerce. To your specific question: I choose not to answer!

Gabriel Valdez

If you had to put an estimated ETA for the app portion of fluent community what would estimate this to be?

Shahjahan Jewel

Gabriel Valdez Most probably within 3-4 months.

Ryk Melck

Shahjahan Jewel I’m going to investigate this further on my end early next year. Don’t you think a PWA is another way to go?

Shahjahan Jewel

Ryk Melck definately. We will try to support PWA as well.

Jonathan N.

Does really come a BuddyBoss migration feature this month?

Shahjahan Jewel

Jonathan Nägele we have only few days in this month so most probably we will release that early next December.

Jonathan N.

Shahjahan Jewel We are looking forward to it!

Ryk Melck

Shahjahan Jewel next December? Sounds like next year😂

Shahjahan Jewel

Ryk Melck Sorry it will be next month 🙈

Sombri Luna

In Fluent CRM, adding users to multiple spaces is efficient, using a single block that allows multiple selections.

However, removing users from multiple spaces requires using individual blocks for each space, resulting in a less efficient process.

A multiple selection functionality for user removal, similar to the one for adding users, is needed.

Shahjahan Jewel

Sombri Luna Noted. We will make it multi-select.

Johanna Armnius

Is there any plan to allow shortcodes/custom blocks in courses? Right now, the inability to add shortcodes is preventing me from migrating my courses.

Shahjahan Jewel

Johanna Armnius Our course builder will have more features. But most probably early next quarter.

Hello Shahjahan Jewel ! Thanks for the update and for being active in the community. Since you're back, I wanted to ask about something crucial for WooCommerce users. Fluent Forms is such a powerful tool, but when can we expect official support for WooCommerce as a Woo Payment option in Fluent Forms? This integration would be a game-changer for those of us managing WooCommerce stores and needing seamless payment workflows. Is this on the roadmap? Thank you!

Shahjahan Jewel

Anri Maglakelidze WooPayments are just a wrapper of Stripe. Not sure if they have any API or not. By the way, if you have FluentCRM then you can connect FluentCommunity with your WooCommerce Products.

Joe Williams

The course lesson content includes an embed URL feature, but it is mainly limited to well-known, larger sites. Are there plans to provide more options, such as an iFrame?

Shahjahan Jewel

Joe Williams That is the same as WordPress embedding.

Morgan McArthur

Hi Shahjahan Jewel ... good to see some activity again in this feed from you / WPManage Ninja... felt like the ninja's vanished, now they back ;)

My question... can you mention some additional features you have planned for the course builder? and what can be anticipated for release between now and early next quarter?

Shahjahan Jewel

Morgan McArthur We have a plan to support all the core blocks to build your lessons and course. Additionally, course resources will be added.

Morgan McArthur

Shahjahan Jewel lovely thanks! I purchased FluentCommunity Pro and yet to install and play around. I was trying to find out if course preview to public is available, or is this still something to come? i.e when signed out you can see what courses there are and can view the table of contents but cant access the course unless signed up.

Gee Adriaansz

Thanks for this AMA! I was wondering if it will be possible in the future to integrate FluentCommunity into the main domain instead of using a subdomain. For example, my entire website is hosted on a separate domain, and the domain where FluentCommunity is on, is solely dedicated to that purpose, making a subdomain unnecessary.

Shahjahan Jewel

Gee Adriaansz You can install FluentCommunity anywhere you want. Subdomain / Main domain both works

Gee Adriaansz

Shahjahan Jewel But under 'Change Community URL,' I am required to add a slug, which I don’t want. What I meant earlier (and I realize it’s not technically a subdomain) is that it feels similar to one. Apologies for the miscommunication. When I leave the slug field empty, I receive the error: 'Please enter a valid slug.'

Gee Adriaansz

Shahjahan Jewel great, thanks!

Alabri

Gee Adriaansz add the code then save permalink then remove the code. I removed the code because it caused an issue in courses URL.

After removing the code, Community will be in main domain and will not change.

Max Fabi

I know you mentioned to skip feature-request type but this is super essential for my setup and not having it prevents me from jumping into FluentCommunity. Can you give a rough estimation when "Theme Compatibility" will be launched?

https://community.wpmanageninja.com/fluentcommunity-roadmp/#/idea/220/

Shahjahan Jewel

Max Fabi Within next quarter.

Max Fabi

Is it possible to overwrite/override plugin files with child theme?

Shahjahan Jewel

Ramsis Kasis

is there any plan that members in the community can upload a direct video and not just a url ?

Shahjahan Jewel

Ramsis Kasis yes. We have a plan to add a video module with Bunny / Cloudflare Media.

Kyle Hi

Will you be releasing documentations on how to add our modules? In its current form, its great for basic community use. But i would personally love to be able to custom pages, and then add to components etc. (powered by shortcodes perhaps)

Thomas Fischer

Hi Shahjahan, I asked years ago about the possibility of being able to create different texts for the double opt-in in FluentCRM or perhaps even better in FluentForms, but unfortunately there was only a promise to include this in the roadmap. It's a shame because our customers keep asking about it and it is actually always needed because a generic standard double opt-in is too unspecific and from a marketing point of view you want to serve your customers in the best possible way so that the conversion rate is optimal. Actually, this feature is not a big deal in terms of effort, we currently make do with "green popups", which is pretty messy because the statistics are then no longer generated in Fluent. Can't you address this problem at the beginning of 2025? Not just for my sake, the German-speaking area is just very special in business. Thank you very much.

Charles Lemoine

Hi Shahjahan Jewel, do you plan to integrate SCORM in your LMS? It will be very helpful for digital learning manager who wants to import files from Storyline or other authoring tools.

Shahjahan Jewel

Charles Lemoine We have but that may take some time.

Scott Heitmann

Hi Shahjahan Jewel, I have a few questions.

1) I noticed in the Fluent Community Roadmap, in the LMS module that has been launched already, it mentions “With features like quizzes, certificates, and course management”. I can’t see the ability to add quizzes at the end of a lesson. Will this be available soon?

2) on the page where all courses are displayed, there is currently no way to order them to reorganise their order. Will this feature be added soon?

3) When I have used Tutor LMS with Fluent CRM, it has another tab in the user contact page within Fluent that shows courses completed and quiz responses right there in the contacts dashboard where I can send them emails etc. I’d assume we can expect similar integrations with fluent community?

4) Any chance of a zoom integration for live streamed videos? I know currently you can drop a YouTube URL and livestream a zoom feed to YouTube, but it would be great if this was a direct integration?

5) As we find and experience bugs, where can we report them?

Oh… And thanks for Fluent Community! I love it!

Shahjahan Jewel

Scott Heitmann

  1. The current LMS feature is not that feature-rich. We just covered almost everything that circle have. We have plan to upgrade it including quizzes.
  2. Yes, We will add some filtering within next week.
  3. Yes, we will have more integration with FluentCRM.
  4. We will take a look but that may take some time.
  5. The best place to report bug via support ticket

Akira Zabala

Hi Shahjahan Jewel , first of all, awesome work as always! Thanks for making solid products with such passion.

I’m currently trying to implement Fluent Booking and having trouble understanding the best way to track conversions for optimizing for Google Ads. There’s no mention nor documentation about it, so my guess is maybe it’s about using Tag manager for capturing those events? Any advise is greatly appreciated! 💪

Shahjahan Jewel

Akira Zabala I will ask the team to make a doc about it.

Akira Zabala

Also, I think it’s just a matter of time but would be great to see (sooner than later) product discussion feeds for every Fluent product in here 🤓

Shahjahan Jewel

Akira Zabala Yes, we will add more discussion spaces as well.

Manoj Sharma

Will we be integrating Paymattic for handling payments?

Manoj Sharma

Can we add ‘Support,’ ‘Paymattic,’ ‘Social Ninja', ‘booking' & 'Forms’ as dedicated discussion spaces?

Manoj Sharma

Are we planning to enhance Fluent Support by adding new features like a self-service portal and upgrading the user interface for both front-end and backend?

Manoj Sharma

what are you future plans for Social Ninja?

Manoj Sharma

When I submit a post in the community requesting a feature or suggesting an improvement, sometimes there’s no response, and I’m left wondering: Did the Ninja team see it? Did they like the idea or not? From my perspective, small changes can often make a big impact, but the lack of response can feel discouraging. How do you plan to address this and ensure better engagement with community feedback?

Francisco Lee

I would like to know if you guys will integrate with suremember, surecart, bunny.net, brevo and if fluentcommunity has an automatic option to delete feeds that are older than 365 so that the system deletes old comments and does not overload the website. All this points is very important for me.

Francisco Lee

Shahjahan Jewel pending.
