Does anyone know whether Ross PWA addon is better than other PWA solutions, such as the Progressify WordPress plugin, and what makes it better?
Marek I have Progressify, the name has just changed. They had the best solution on Codecanyon, then overnight they stopped developing it before coming back. I tried it before Ross's solution, but it doesn't work very well. Ross develops solutions for Fluentcommunity and designed for it. If something doesn't work, Ross doesn't waste any time and solves the problem immediately. That's also the difference.
Marek I've not used Progressify so can't speak for its features, but my PWA+Push solution is being designed specifically and only for Fluent Community. It means it has deep integration with the fcom application and all the available hooks for notifications etc. Fcom isn't a standard wordpress site which is what most of these existing PWA solutions are set up for.
Jéjé immobilier What specifically does not work in Progressify compared to Ross’s PWA?
Marek My whole ethos is building add-ons for FluentCommunity. My PWA currently is designed to provide an app and push notifications for the FC SPA specifically. I think if you need it for a full wordpress site and any add-on that could come with it then you're best with Progressify if it supports fcom now. Seems like a much more mature plugin too for those kinds of needs.
Marek the only visible difference is that progressify app can be published to all possible stores. But maybe Ross will make it happen as well.
Cointacter Requires a TWA to wrap around the PWA. Maybe in the future.
Ross FCA The website really lacks screenshots and explanations. It's far too basic to inspire confidence in making a purchase. Perhaps a YouTube video would help? But in any case, it's impossible to make a purchase decision without seeing what you offer. Thank you.
Marek I just ditched progressify for Ross addons. You have it all at FCA launcher. Also progressify does not add notifications if you have fluent community as a starting page and it is pretty heavy. It slows down your site. It was a great alternative but I will vote for Ross.

DAVID MOUSSEBOIS Oh definitely, you should have seen the site a couple of months ago... I also lack any documentation for the addons just now, but that's coming too. It's very much a "startup" vibe right now and requires a leap of faith that thankfully no one has regretted yet.

Ross FCA Anyone running in the region of 100 sites should pay much more than 399. That offer is off. 5 for 399, yeah, 10 at most, but 100...nope, that doesn't gel.
Helmar Rudolph I don't disagree. But right now this is a growing suite of add-ons, most of which are not fully mature, there's lots of bugs, no documentation. The current lifetime deal price reflects the current situation. It's more of a kickstarter price point and recognises the leap of faith in investing at this point in the journey.
The lifetime deal will not be available forever and the standard model I'm looking at is subscription based.
The vast majority of purchases just now are the $179 single site license, bought by solo community owners who are investing in their own business, active in their feedback, and are getting some nice custom features in return. It's a fair deal for me and for my users, in my opinion.
Ross FCA point taken. My advice on the above: more focus, less bugs, even if it means less plugins for people to tinker with. After all, they want things that work, even if they are small in number. Just saying..

I don't mind the questions at all, gives me an opportunity to explain the situation and I have tried to maintain as much transparency as possible so as to avoid any shocks or disappointments.
In the not so distant future FCAddons will be a fully realised, robust, and documented companion for fluent community. For now it's all fun and experimental and the support from premium subs so far has allowed me to bring in some help to speed things up and handle bugs and refinement (whilst I stick to the fun stuff 😉). I'm also actively looking to pay some users to develop documentation and tutorials based on their actual experiences, rather than a tech spec from myself.
I have been very guilty of chasing shiny new feature syndrome, which to be honest has really helped my understanding of the platform and really explore its full potential, but have now committed myself to refining Events, PWA, and Push notifications to v1.0s before starting anything else. Since I've started to accept payment I owe it to paying customers to provide functional add-ons they can use on their live sites (and they can just now, with caution, like I am), and that's the current focus.
