2 Questions regarding the upcoming release
During the last few weeks 2 features came up and I'm not sure if they're planned on being delivered in the upcoming release (or at least in the next few weeks) and for me they are crucial:
- Having a Fluent Community "Template" so you could add to any page the community framework. Like the Roadmaps page on this community.
- Connecting posts comments to spaces.
The 2nd point is important to me because I have LearnDash courses on my site and my students leave comment (questions) in the comment section on each lesson page. This is a very good situation because the questions and organized and connected to a lesson. Now if I'll have a space for a course and also the ability to ask questions on the lesson pages - this will create a confusion.
Ideally - I'd like posts comment to be associated with a a space. Because these are different databases (fluentcommunity space posts and comment of wp posts) -
I think the best solution would be to implement with a shortcode the ability to add a post to a space, not from inside the space and to display all community posts associated with a wp post page on a specific posts.
Another possible solution would be to keep wp posts comments as they are and just copy back and forth the community to the wp posts.
- Yes, we are working on theme compatibility and how to give options to add a sidebar and different elements to the theme. Currently, it's in the R&D phase, so we are not sure when we can solve it.
- We don't have any plans to connect WP Posts/Comments to FluentCommunity. We will have API so if anyone programmatically publishes any content into the community that is possible.
We use our own database tables instead of the WP default tables for performance and scalability. WP's default table was not built for these types of dynamic contents and complex data structure.
Shahjahan Jewel, will there be an option to use fluentforms in posts and courses?
