1 or 2 fluent communities?
On my website, I have a fluent community with a paid subscription model. I'm considering starting an accessible community for those who register, with limited content, but it would be free to give them a taste of the paid community.
I'm hesitant. Should I create just one community or two separate communities? I'm concerned that free members might become numerous and overwhelm the others, in addition to complicating content access permissions.
Also, I don't want to force users to log in multiple times if they belong to both communities.
What would you advise?
I would simply add a new space for free members that is exclusively for free members. They don’t even see the other spaces and content. As soon as they move to payd, they get access to the other spaces and content.
however in my experience it is pretty hard to convert free members to pays other than with payed courses. They usually don’t pay for being part of another community of they already are part of a free membership. Always depends on what exactly you offer
Christian Anderl this is a really helpful insight! In that case, perhaps I’ll create a discussion space where only admins can post Q&A and other content — versus having a whole free community.
Free users can comment but not create posts. Or maybe I’ll have no free community at all! So, so helpful! Thank you!
so for free members, I create a "public" space
and for paid members I use either secret or private spaces ?
