Gateway Fees & Discounts for FluentCart is live π
While working on a pretty large custom migration from WooCommerce to FluentCart, we ran into one major issue.
In WooCommerce, we were relying on checkout fees and discounts based on payment gateway, categories, and similar conditions. Once we moved to FluentCart, that flexibility was missing.
So we fixed it ourselves.
Weβve just launched Gateway Fees & Discounts for FluentCart β a new addon that gives you more control over checkout pricing.
You can add a fee or offer a discount based on the selected payment gateway, apply rules store-wide or by category, and it also supports custom gateways added by other plugins.
We built it because we needed it in a real project, and we figured others might need it too.

Would love to hear what you think π

To my understanding, it is illegal to charge different prices based on payment within the EU based on article 62 of PSD2. Have you checked that, and how do you deal with that?
AndrΓ© DausΒ Thank you Andre for giving me this insight.
We just added anΒ EU / EEA complianceΒ mode exactly for this type of concern.
When this mode is enabled, we do not treat it as a simple βadd a payment fee at checkoutβ flow. Instead, the gateway processing cost isΒ embedded into product prices across the storefront, and if the customer chooses another eligible payment method, that embedded amount is converted into aΒ checkout discount, with a dynamic notice shown to the customer.
So in this setup, pricing can change not only in checkout, but alsoΒ outside checkoutΒ too, includingΒ shop pages, loops, product views, cart, and related storefront areas, because the product price itself is adjusted as part of the compliance flow.
We added this for store owners who still want to configure payment-gateway-based fee/discount logic, but need a more EU/EEA-aware implementation. Weβre also planning anΒ IP/geolocation-based detection layer, so merchants will be able to apply this EU/EEA compliance behavior only for customers in regulated EU/EEA regions, or globally if they prefer.
Iβll attach a short video as well, since itβs much easier to understand when seen in practice, in a couple of hours. thank you so much for the heads up
Denis - Emanuel SanduΒ still sounds interesting. I am looking forward to learning more about it.
Nice, seems like a decent solution! Wondering if the Category specific rules could be expanded to include Brand Rules, eg buy 3 of one brand and have a 20% discount automatically applied at checkout. Also how are you intending to implement the Country Specific discounts?
It would be interesting to have an integration with FluentCRM to adjust that they labels / tags can benefit from discounts, because that's what I'm missing at the moment
