Issue with changing Usernames (Maybe unavoidable? Suggestion in the Post)

Hi, I noticed that all the previous mentions of myself by others within the community were hardcoded to go to a URL formulated with my previous username.

(See screenshot)

Changing the username makes for losing the trail on who made a comment or was mentioned.

Does this mean, in our communities, that people can take on the usernames that a user previously had and have all attributes of that user redirected to them?

Suggestion for the dev team Shahjahan Jewel, why not let the mentioning system depend on the user ID (which will never be changed, by WP's definitions), so that even if they do change their usernames, all mentions of them still redirect to the profile of the original owner of that attribution?

I see problems with having to change the username and lose attribution in the process.

Changing usernames can have a huge impact on tracking users and their content and should be limited as I mentioned this in the past. I was able to change my username back and forward already few times without any Admin (and community) awareness

Ps. Using UserAlias or NickName/BrandName (not WP UserName or ID here) would be better IMHO so we can keep the original WP entitiy - single source of truth (not worrying that someone get someone else UserName and by mistake will posses the other user assets/Likes/wife etc)
